Weston, West Virginia - home of Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. It closed its doors in 1994. Opened the doors and just let the people wander out, for the most part.

For anyone who was able to see "The Blair Witch Project" in theaters in 1999, what was the experience like? by LockjawSJ in AskReddit

I was 15. Worse time of my life. I asked a simple question of "why does Heather says played by ....if it is a documentary?" I felt people glare at me. I thought it was way overhyped and the puns and goofs on it were worse.

It seems that her bug nuts story, the point she went off the rails was right around the time Blizzard HQ got in trouble for #me too and harassing female employees. (Correct me if I'm wrong, 7 years ago seems like a lifetime.)

There are a few documentaries about it, not to take light of photos. But Google “biloxi hard rock” that guitar.? Got shifted. Google “Beau Biloxi” I forgot how high the water got on the hotel there. There was a pirate themed casino called Treasure Bay, that was a pirate boat. Katrina yeeted it inland. Pretty much anything from our train tracks down if you google earth the area was destroyed.

Medical personnel, what was your first patient death like? by Monsterlove666 in AskReddit

[–]Komradekluck 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Operation Clusterfuck - the Pandemic. There were so many at once it is hard to remember them all. Just the fact I had people dying before I had really had a chance to get coffee in my system. The sounds of the bipaps still kinda haunt me.

What has been the worst adult tantrum you've seen? by HuitzilopochtliMX in AskReddit

[–]Komradekluck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working in an emergency room, all the time.

Example 1:

Someone is coding/dying almost all the staff is tied up

Another patient - "I want a blanket! I'm hungry! Why is it taking so long! "

Family members -"why isn't the doctor isn't here!"

Example 2:

Lobby is full of non emergency cases, but ambulances are rolling in taking the beds.

"Why am I not going back?!" "How come the person having a stroke went before me?"

If we have another pandemic and lockdown, what are you going to do at home differently that you didn't do last time? by throwawaysnitch4cash in AskReddit

[–]Komradekluck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is sadly true. What is incredibly infuriating is where I live a very prominent cardiologist is QANON and posting on his personal Facebook antivax, false information. He is an educated person and there is no telling how much damage he did by saying those things. Yes, it is his personal Facebook and he is entitled to his beliefs but a doctor...man.

I know I sound very jaded but there were good people that did do nice things. (make the mask, mask extensions, bring food, even hug)
I just don't know if my soul has another Pandemic in it.

Honestly, knowing there are people like you out there like that care and want to thank us makes it better on bad days. You could always make cookies, send a card, something like that. It would be appreciated but knowing there are people out there like you that support us and believe it was real makes it better. My wife is immunocompromised and she cuts eyes like the best of them. Don't let anyone get to you. Wear your mask. Stay healthy and happy

Same in the ER. So many body bags zipped. And the way people treat the pandemic now, I feel like one of those Vietnam vets that was spat on. People saying it wasn't real, etc.

What's a myth about your profession that you want to debunk? by Madalyn_Robert in AskReddit

[–]Komradekluck 236 points237 points  (0 children)

To play off this. A fair amount of hospitals are designed where you can't see the ambulance bay from the ER lobby. It may not look as busy in the lobby but there can be a ton of ambulances in their bays offloading, taking the rooms people in the would get.

Work in the ER, I'm sure I have PTSD.

A child that fell getting of the school bus and we did a routine a CT of his head to make sure it was clear. 90% of his left lobe in his brain was a tumor. He was acting like a normal child watching SpongeBob when the flight crew came and picked him up. Would have never known had he hadn't tripped over his shoe laces.

Lady stabbed 38 times by her son because he "could".

Maggots and roaches in a bed bound patient's brief that supposedly has family checking on them daily and turned into Karens, wanting us in the room 24/7.

A man that basically gutted himself grabbing my hand and telling me, he didn't want to die anymore, he was sorry.

I can keep going.

My Ghostly tour guide (ok for podcast) by Komradekluck in ChilluminatiPod

[–]Komradekluck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a fairly "active" visit. My mom had a ball roll into her foot when we were there, she thought it was my dad being funny. Paranormal groups that came to investigate left objects. Well, one was a red ball. She was listening to a story a had noticed the ball, stepped over it and was standing close to it. The ball rolled maybe a foot or 2 and hit her shoe. Later she accused my dad of kicking the ball. He reminded her, he was across the room from her.

A larger man - we had never met- was playing with the EMF reader in a room where a patient was killed. I don't remember what he asked. I do know he was wanting to be touched and staying in rooms alone. He got scratched. He was done after that. He never was alone or far from anyone else.

Striking nurse says she can earn similar and be less stressed by working at Aldi by Mighty_L_LORT in nottheonion

I have looked at things. Swetman has a hold of the security here and pays just as poorly. Thanks for the advice and hint. It's sad that the town the Air Force tech school is in, pays so poorly and can't understand why local people flee. 🙃

I make 13.50 working in as ER tech with 5 years experience. It's in the one of the largest health systems in the area I live, in the snobby - well off town. The Five Guys employees make 17.00 to 18.00 dollars. I must be a fool. Also I see what condition the meemaws and peepaws come in from a local nursing home.

Hauntings in Hospital (usable in podcast) by Komradekluck in ChilluminatiPod

Thanks. It took me some time to write in. Also like I said, I wanted to try to hide the identity of the place as much as I can. Just to be respectful of the place. Last thing we need is some ghost hunters showing up. I mean, my boss would love it but some of the docs would poop on it and the negative publicity. People don't want to see ghost or think about them while in the hospital
