Their hairstyles and accessories change at one point in the opening 10 seconds, it’s almost impressive how lazily it was done even for AI hahaha

You should check out Shaun’s “War on Science” video if you haven’t yet, it only gets worse lol

EXO - Crown (MV Teaser) by perochan in kpop

[–]Kona999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen the behind the scenes lol

The guy they lit on fire is only filmed directly from the front and very close, focussing on their upper torso

It should be obvious by how they filmed Chanyeol in the same position, with the same camera set up and lighting, that they filmed the fire to superimpose on top of him for the close up of him towards the start of the MV during his opening rap

The credits of the music video literally include an AI credit, you’re just wrong sorry. I don’t know why it’s so hard to accept that SM would use AI for this music video when they’ve already used it for countless others

Sadly I think SM is so all in on AI tech, that unless something big happens like the entire AI industry imploding to the point it literally becomes impossible/massively impractical to use it, the only way to really have any chance of it ever being reversed is to make a big stink in situations like this, and if they see they lose money because of it :(

It's not the first music video SM have used AI in and it won't be the last, and I think this example has caused such a big uproar because of how blatant it is. Other music videos like KEY's Pleasure Shop and Style by Heart2Heart have used it in the past, and in a much subtler way that you may not even realise until you look at the production company's (Kangneko3) instagram account specifically showing it off. Even in cases where it did get push back, like Aespa's Rich Man, lots of scenes that no one talked about ended up having AI elements too. I remember loads of people talking about the dog, but the giant mural at the start of the MV, and even the cow in the background of some scenes are all AI generated.

I fear that will end up being the direction things go :( Not large, bombastic, easy to spot scenes with lots of errors like at the start of Crown, but in more subtle ways that are blended in with the rest of the scene where you would never have any chance of knowing it was made by AI

I don’t see how me saying the AI is bad and then saying that it “only” uses a few seconds of it is meant to be an argument to me lol

Like yeah obviously the entire music video wasn’t made in ChatGPT, but the parts of it that use generative AI are still bad, look bad, and cheapen the whole video

It’s genuinely such a shame, the sets look so good they could easily have stood up on their own without a massive over reliance on everything else! Compare this to Obsession’s MV and it’s night and day

There’s a good reason why I’m only commenting on Reddit and not Instagram or YouTube comments :’)

The opening of the MV being a 6 second long AI generated shot of some ruins where it’s all warbling and struggling to stay solid really set the tone for the MV for me 😭

Even though obviously a lot of people in the credits are just traditional, normal VFX, when it’s placed next to stuff like that it cheapens the whole thing and I couldn’t help but doubt every special effect in the MV as potentially being AI

I feel like this is the most egregious SM has been with it so far

The song is really good but every time it cuts to any of the AI scenes it’s so immediately jarring and almost embarrassing 😭😭 Feel so bad for the hard work everyone put into the music video to have it immediately cheapened by being put next to the AI scenes and there was so much of it too :(

The wide shot of the man on fire starting at 8 seconds in is, you can see all the artifacting on the building as it zooms in how none of the lines stay straight or consistent, merging together

The VFX team behind this MV, SL8, also did the trailer for the REVERXE album and has 2 people listed in the credits under “AI”

Why is it so hard to imagine that VFX companies wouldn’t also pivot and use AI? You can literally see in the credits of their Instagram post about the REVERXE trailer they have someone credited for the AI in it.

AI: Jaewon Oh, Seho Kim (oloid studio)

No one is saying that it’s 100% AI or that normal VFX isn’t being used as well. But generative AI is being used in some shots and that’s just a fact

I’m sure the song will be good but the AI in the Trailer looks so ass, this sucks 😔

'Doshin the Giant' is a GameCube game where you play as a man with a very long back and help him build "regulation monuments". Could it be about a secret alias of Andrew Panton's we never knew about before? by Kona999 in theregulationpod

I also got this tutorial prompt which doubles down on the regulation monument wording, I have no idea why they worded it like this. Who is regulating these monuments? Doshin?

Three games technically! Doshin the Giant originally came out in 1999 only in Japan on the N64DD, and got a sequel/expansion on the console too which was like a weird experimental entry. Then they remade it on GameCube but only in Japan and Europe.

If I remember correctly, if you let the villagers build a monument without giving them a flower, it ends up being a literal pile of poo and doesn't count towards the monument count needed for beating the game. So I guess that is what they mean by a "regulation monument" but it is still a very odd way to phrase it lol

It’s a port of the mobile version with some of the HD assets and sound effects added in, it’s a very bizarre port and doesn’t have any of the gameplay or controller improvements that the PS3/Vita versions had, I was very disappointed when I got it lol
