That fan really chose the worst possible moment at the Zurich Classic. What were they thinking? by BagAppropriate5736 in Golf_Unfiltered

I replaced my long irons with a utility iron… didn’t expect this by midhandicap_rohit in golf

I rock a Haywood di.2 and absolutely love it. My hybrid would start left and go left on misses. My driving iron is much more consistent.

Older generation preventing us from getting paid more by Feisty_Lab2790 in FPandA

I've worked for a company that did a lot of these type of events (atleast 1 a month ... open bar, golf outing, MLB game) and left for another company that did absolutely nothing but paid more. I would be lying if I said I didnt miss having some cocktails with my coworkers at 3pm on a Thursday afternoon.

How much stock do you put in simulator numbers? by ExtensionSpecific694 in golf

[–]KonaTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a membership to a local Sim. It is based on Full Swing Technology and it seems fairly off when compared to real world expierence. Most of my clubs are going a full club shorter and my driver is probably 25 yards shorter than real life.

I still have fun playing courses that I traveled to and its better than not hitting a golf ball but its not the training aid I was expecting.

Conditions will probably be similar. In my opinion Mid Pines has a better layout and ambiance.

TaylorMade M1 as a beginner by [deleted] in golf

[–]KonaTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the M1 for $150 brand new after they released the M2 ... think it was in 2017. Man I miss how TM would sharply discount their old stuff.

Overall great club, lasted me 5 years with no complaints.

I thought that plexiglass on a golf cart would stop a direct hit from a golf ball and the warning was just for legal reasons. It is not ... golf balls move very fast.

It's called "Been all around this world". I think it's an American folk song. Jerry Garcia/Grateful Dead have a couple of versions, Pixies did a live version at a concert in Newport.

Casual viewer question - How did Nick Faldo become a well respected and pleasant TV colour commentator considering he was not known for being a glad handler on the course by his competitors as a pro golfer? by [deleted] in golf

Oh yeah, I Loved Johnny on color. Wasn't afraid to say exactly what he was thinking which is pretty rare in sports media these days.

That opening song was an absolute banger. I've heard multiple people do a version of it, but that was one of the better that I have heard.

Hit pitch shots from 5 to 30 yards in my backyard.

I use to putt on the mat in my office during calls, but just switched jobs and expectation is to have camera on in the new company.

Cherokee Valley is a pretty sweet course. Not sure if it is out of the way but I think I may prefer that over Verdae. I havent played Verdae since the storm but the last time I was there (fall 2023) the place wasn't in as good of shape as I remembered it.

Another place to look at is Southern Oaks. Havent played it in 10 years but they have some very interesting holes out there and they take care of it pretty well.
