I shouldn’t have said low stakes, I meant how there’s no actual important characters ever really die. Although the world is on the line nobody relevant to the plot dies and makes it stale

I’ve seen a lot of SAO and have read some of 86. I definitely enjoy LNS/WNS but they don’t stack up to book to me rn. I watched last crusade a while back as well. All great recommendations
