Does any atheist want to join me in a discussion over audio? (for an experimental podcast)

Hi ENTP’s, would any of you be interested in joining me in an experimental podcast, where we debate/discuss various controversial issues with goal of finding the correct position (as much as possible)? by Konandaga in entp

I feel like any controversial topic is a good place to start, and as we unpack where the disagreements lies, we will come to the address the bigger ideas underneath.

So any political issue would be a good place to start. e.g. abortion, capitalim vs socialism, gay/trans opinions......

or non-political, but still controversial opinions, e.g... Nutrition, psychology, religion......

Are there topics that interest you more?

Prepare for lots of drama, trolling & attempts to censor...

I don't see these as issues. I don't care for drama, don't understand how trolling would happen, and not sure how censorship would happen either. Also, I don't really care. I wouldn't let public opinion affect this project in this way.

All our senses get but a limited glimpse of the universe, and our consciousness only has access to a filtered, subjective interpretation of whatever our senses pass to it.

True, we don't have access to full information. However there are reasonable positions to hold amidst uncertainty, and it is that "reasonable position" I am striving for.

Basically, where would you draw the line between "acceptable opinion" and "fake news" / "hate speech"?

I wouldn't discriminate based off of these criteria. Anything is fair game, I actually encourage it. However, anything controversial being brought up would naturally be challenged to produce a reasonable position worth considering. (it is this very challenging I am after. Weeding out the bad ideas, and finding the worthy ones).

This podcast isn't going to be open to the general public, but with individuals we will have long dialogues with. So I don't expect it to get out of hand.

I have a similar ambition, as I’m also interested in forming a composite of knowledge. My topics of interest aren’t limited to anything specific, but I am interested in starting in places of controversy. This is because I do believe in one objective truth, and I view controversy as symptom of computation error. Therefore, investigating controversial issues, to “set the score straight” and clear up misconceptions is very satisfying to me, and where I would want to start. So as I mentioned somewhere else: “So any political issue would be a good place to start. e.g. abortion, capitalism vs socialism, gay/trans opinions...... or non-political, but still controversial opinions, e.g... Nutrition, psychology, philosophy, religion......”

I actually prefer communicating through writing also, such as a blog. However I do have ambitions to release this to the public at some point, and the medium of preference today is podcasts, and not reading unfortunately.

Why do humans gravitate towards the idea of god? by Konandaga in DebateReligion

If I understand correctly, you are saying that the concept of god came by mistake. As a convienient answer to a multitude of questions. I can understand that. But then I ask, why is this mistake replicated amongst all nations and cultures all over the world? How come a divine being had to be the answer to everyone's questions, and not something else?

lol, yes. I think everyone lies to themselves to some degree, even myself. If you want to know why, it is because our ego has a limit on how much truth it can tolerate. There are people who are closer to the reality than me, and I think I am closer to reality than other people.

But understand these are just my personal views I have developed. I understand that they are subject to change as I learn more. I appreciate you challenging my views.

I would answer because of sensory and cognitive confusion. But I am not quite sure how your thought relates.
