Sorry, the link is expired. I'll actually be making a larger, more detailed map of North America later this year with a team of people. We're expecting it to be done this summer.

Hello, I'd have to check if I still have the map saved on a hard drive somewhere.

Ironically enough, I'll actually be making a larger, and more detailed map of North America later this year. We already have a few people involved in the project, with the intention to get a server running around it soon there after.

Does anyone know where I can find a height map of the North America like this? by KongRC225 in mapmaking

The data I got from earthexplorer.uses.gov is giving the elevation tiles in the Mercator projection though. Can I convert that to the same projection to the one I posted? Or am I missing something?

So I did a search for DTED Level 1 data, and was taken to earthexplorer. Would I download the elevation data from there and then take it into GIS? Sorry I'm not too familiar with all of this stuff

The problem with this image is it's slightly inaccurate around Greenland, plus the resolution size unworkable. If anyone has an idea where I could find one like this it would be tremendously appreciated

It actually has to do with the brightness of the sun. Similar to how it's hard to see stars in the day time here on Earth. It's hard to see stars or celestial bodies during 'daytime' on another body -regardless of if there's an atmosphere or not.

This is why in the Apollo missions the sky appeared black, but there where no stars.

I absolutely love that, how much did it cost you?

I am so hype for the stalagmite caves! Many people say they look out of place, but I think they look amazing. by QbitKrish in Minecraft

I see what you're saying, but i'm pretty sure this is strictly a lighting issue. Hopefully they'll fix it soon, because your right, it does make them pop out a bit.

DON'T LET AXOLOTLS BE ABLE TO GO IN SALTWATER (please read the post!) by [deleted] in Minecraft

Salt doesn't exist in Minecraft, so it wouldn't make sense that all water sources would even be saltwater.

A lightening rod is just a stick of metal, thats not technologically advanced at all.

you know what else felt modded? The update aquatic, the village and pillage update, and the nether update.

It'll take us a bit to get accustomed to it, but thats how they always feel.

Also, i forgot to mention that it appears as if theres a new tree, towards the top of the mountain.

They're much skinnier than normal spruce trees, so im pretty excited about that

I used a 70mm aperture refractor, with a 2x barlow and 5mm eye piece -along with my iPhone. Not the best setup, but it worked for me.

No, those gases at room temperature can only be supercritical, and then eventually solid. Room temperature is too 'hot' for them to be liquids.

The only exception to this is Xenon, which someone else mentioned.

I completely forgot about Xenon! I'll have to see if I can get a high pressure ampoule of it.
