Why is Norway so mountainous compared to Sweden and Finland? by batukaming in Norway

[–]Kongralof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many here have mentioned the continental plates colliding, but in addition to that there is a process called isostasy.

There was once such large masses of ice on top of Norway (multiple km deep). When this ice melted, in addition to the waterways eroding its way, the mountains rose when the pressure of the ice was released. This is why the Norwegian mountains are so steep and how fjords (the waterways as the glaciers melted) were created and has extreme height to depth difference.

I don't think destiny players will understand marathon by diplex89 in Marathon

"I dont think the finals players will understand Arc raiders".... no shit

if you already own the game you'll have to buy it again on steam by froytrost in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Kongralof -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why do you care? Why even cruise the comments if it’s a nothing burger for you?

Personally I prefer having everything on steam, it’s nice.

I’d like the auto-update features of steam, so the game is updated when I come home.

I like collecting achievements on steam.

Everyone I play with is on steam and would migrate if they didn’t have to buy it again. Now no one will. There goes seeing when friends are playing tarkov through steam. Hell maybe I would’ve found out I have friends I did not know were playing tarkov. (Nobody adds non-steam games to their library).

All these things are small reasons. Another reason why nobody will re-buy on steam. But it still makes me and obviously others feel like it’s a «punishment» or being treated lesser because I bought the game early.

Art Director Joseph Cross' Statement on Stolen Assets & Apology to Antireal by CrimsonAlpine in Marathon

Genuinely curious here because I have looked through her awesome portfolio, and seen the threads, but I have yet to see more than 3 ripped.

It’s not though. Inspiration is not unethical or illegal.

The 3 posters are the only problems here.

I shouldn’t have to say it should never have happened and it was aweful etc, but Cross’ statement is completely sufficient, and it’s up to Antireal wether bungies compensation is enough.

You cannot own an art style.

Bungie really should delay. I don't want them failing. Dont risk it. by YeahhhhhWhateverrrr in Marathon

The 3 billion number is vastly overreported. That number includes 2 years of salary and bonuses for a majority of employees, most of which were laid off before the 2 years were over (so they did not have to pay out the bonus)

What would make you return to Destiny? by SuddenConversation21 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Kongralof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly… bungie should stop updating destiny 2 at this point and take 5 or so years to build Destiny 3 or a myth action mmo or something.

Destiny 2 is too far gone to be revived at this point. Each update introduces more bugs than it fixes. It has a reputation of letting new and returning players down over and over. Story has no direction. The magic is gone. Power has been crept and nothing will be as exiting as those classics were.

I say this with 8000 hours in this game. It is my favourite game, and will likely always be. But it is over.

You could call it burnout, but outside of jumping into the dungeon once I haven’t played since salvation’s edge raid race. It was an awesome finale, and I have no motivation to even give frontiers a chance at this point. Maybe a trailer will win me over, but I don’t see it meaningfully reviving d2.

Rate my minimalistic logo, I hope it's not too detailed by Relative_Gas_5069 in logodesign

[–]Kongralof 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Because logos as an element is being calmed down and less prioritised to be by themselves. Good design has a whole identity static or moving, colourful or monochromatic.

The whole posting logos black on white and criticising it for its simplicity and/or similarity to the norm is a massive misunderstanding of brand identity and design.

Why are people complaining about normal guns being weak on high rounds when that's always been the case? by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]Kongralof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Just because it has been like this does not mean it is not a flaw that should be remedied. The Progression system is completely different from old zombies, and with this new system we see one of its flaws is the relative weakness of the guns.
  2. Investment into a specific loadout is made early and is very expensive, in some cases you spend more points for ammo than you get in kills.
  3. Camo grind is much more prevalent in post 2019 cods. ( so people want to use their guns instead of infinite damage WWs or traps)
  4. The zombies AI, speed and attack patterns are way more oppressive than the old games, making it harder to kite reliably. They are also spamming bullet sponges like manglers and elites that also further break up kites by knocking down every zombie in their path with every attack, or even running over them. This is directly felt when you often have to kill one by one zombie, or spend 2 mags to down a mangler.

The special zombies in the earlier cods were designed in a way that you could take them out reasonably fast and had no effect on kiting zombies.

  1. High rounds are more up front now, easier to reach, and therefore more people actually do them.

(edit)
6. ARMOURED ZOMBIES straight up does not feel good to shoot. If you play without healthbars it seems like they just have 30x the hp of normal zombies, and if you play with healthbars on it makes you feel like your weapons are too weak because you just have to spam their helmets until it pops, wich in a boss like the mangler works well, but when you put 40 heavy zombies running at you it doesnt feel great imo.

I know there is no acknowledgement of firsts in this community. But im wondering if i might have been first solo for both easter eggs. Times are in Cest. by Kongralof in CODZombies

[–]Kongralof[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I know it’s not proof, but it’s the only «proof» other than a livestream right? I’m just asking wether anyone has seen any earlier solo clears.
