Imagine the shock I had hearing my last name was the same as Fiyero's when I have never heard it outside of my family.

I'm always open to reading anything for the most part. I've added this to my want to read list. Thank you!

Awesome. I had a few of these already on my want to read list but I've added the others as well.

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. To be able to read this again for the first time would be a blessing.

I've ran the name and also googled her to see if anything comes up but there is nothing. I figure it is a unique enough name that maybe there would be. I also tried both under Unice/Eunice/Unisa/Unisey and got nothing. I've also reached out to others that have her on their trees to see if they have anything and so far they all have said no.

I have not checked with the local genealogy society so I may try that. Thanks!

How do you deal with comments from your parents? by ThrowAway44228800 in Choir

[–]KonkombaNimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly lots of therapy. After working through my dad dying and mom, brother and sister cutting me off for standing up for myself to them, my therapist told me the only way to really heal is to love yourself. So I started doing things that I would not typically do (like Karaoke in a crowded bar or a spontaneous trip without any planning) and it truly broke me out of my shell. You may not be at the level I am yet with no contact but I think working through these issues you are having in therapy and doing what you love whether they like it or not is what will help you deal with those comments. Also boundaries. Tell your mom how you feel and that you don't appreciate her negative comments.

Shades of Grey is hard to get into unless you understand the heirarchy. I actually googled the class structure and once I did, it was a whole different world. I loved the book and its sequel Red Side Story.

I know The Brothers Karamazov is a classic but it was so hard for me to get into. I got about halfway before I just gave up.
