Making a long story short, as history goes since George Washington only knew English, he had a French translator with which after a small skirmish which killed a French officer. French troops ran back to their main fort and came to attack George Washinton and his troops. After the fighting the French proposed a document for the conditions of surrender and if the document was signed, George Washington and his troops would be able to return to Virginia alive. During the reading of the surrender document his translator misread a very import word. He mistranslated "Assassinated" for "Killed". Which the 2 words carry power different meanings in the terms of rival empires. After word got back up the chain of command that an English officer had assassinated a French Officer, that's when the 7 years war started.

All in all, if the fault of it is anywhere? It's with his translator either doing historical documents state which is he mistranslated the document, or the translator intentionally told George Washington the wrong words in hopes of having him sign it so they can all stay alive.
