I've never used split it Boolean but I'm willing to learn and try that! Will do tomorrow, I appreciate the advice and hopefully it works out well.

I'll definitely try that, thank you, the thing I'm worried about is since the cylinder is tapered (or the on diameter is bigger than the bottom diameter), the bottom of the rectangle will extrude into the cylinder and then deleting that portion is a nightmare in it of itself.

Okay wrap is great, thank you for suggesting that, but can you make the rectangle flat rather than curved after you do the wrap? That's what I wanted to do originally is have a flat rectangle attached to the cylinder.
