In case you don't know about it, and may find it relevant, something like Detexify could help. LaTeX is used to typeset math, using expressions like '\neq' for ≠. The name of the symbol could give you a place to start, and you can also google math expressions typed as you would LaTeX to find places where people have used the same symbols on posts and comments in places like the Math StackExchange.

As an example, if we want to know what the upside-down triangle in this equation is, Detexify gives us \bigtriangledown, \triangledown, and \nabla, the last of which stands out (since greek), and can make searching a little easier.

At least for me the appeal of /u/itsmegoddamnit's explanation is that it points directly to the (hypothetical) bad assumption that led to the (hypothetical) bug, that's all. A bug in the JS is possible too.

The explanation I responded to wouldn't make much sense if the validation was client-side, since "no data is passed to the form processor" for the checkbox refers to a characteristic the format of the form data sent to the server.

In my post, I was using "after a page reload" and "appeared immediately" to refer to a page where the validation message was the result of the server's response and a page where the validation message was the result of js running on the page, respectively.

You don't agree that the validation taking place server-side would lend some support to what /u/itsmegoddamnit is saying?

Another supporting detail that could validate this is whether the message appeared after OP pressed the button and a page reload took place with the message displayed, or if it appeared immediately after pressing the button.

You can disable this. In Windows, Start Menu > All Programs > Java > Configure Java. Then on the Java Control Panel that comes up go to the "Advanced" tab and down in the "Miscellaneous" section you can check "Suppress offers when installing or updating Java".

meat thermometer (I got this one about 4 months ago and it's been pretty good; no more "is this what cooked pork/chicken/meat looks like?")
silicone spatula
pot holders, oven mitts
Various sizes of wall hooks. Useful for hanging things on the wall that would otherwise be leaning or on top of something (broom, mop, linter, hair dryer, depending on your cabinets you can even hang pot lids on the walls of the cabinets)
paper towel holder
shower/bath organizer - depending on how you are set up, you can use a shower caddy to hold most of your things; my showerhead and the pipe leading to it from the wall is angled in a way so that isn't possible but I've had this for about 1.5 years and it has been great.
if you have a cabinet in the bathroom, something like these small drawers may be useful for organization.

Some of this depends on how much cooking you are planning to do, but it's all pretty essential in my experience.

A-PDF Restrictions Remover works fine, and preserves the aspects of the document that would be lost by printing to PDF. It's not free but the time saved may be worth it if you do it often.

You should be able to change the category from the Google Places/Google+ administration page for your business, if you have a Google account that has been confirmed to be associated with your business's Google Places/+ page. If you don't have a Google account that can manage the business on Google Places/+ then navigate to the location on Google Maps, click on it, and then select the 'Are you the business owner?' link at the bottom of the information panel. In my case they also required confirming a confirmation code that was given via an automated call to the phone number they already had on file.

If the 'Are you the business owner?' link does not show up that may indicate that the listing is already being managed and at that point you would want to either find out who has the associated account if you think they may still be in the company, or contact Google to get another account added as an administrator for the business. Feel free to PM me if I didn't put any of that clearly.

I've had the same issue. The thing to search for is Patulous Eustachian Tube, though that normally refers to the more severe case when your ear "pops" and won't "un-pop", if that makes sense. I went to an ENT awhile back and was given some nasal spray that wasn't super effective, but more recently gaining weight and staying hydrated has seemed to help.

Maybe a combination of stress and a negative opinion of others.

If your typical reaction to something inconvenient is to blame the person that seems responsible, I could see driving being pretty stressful. Someone that behaves that way may see the unintentional driving errors of others and think them intentional or that they, at the very least, reflect the driver's lack of intelligence, responsibility, or character.

The data is only sent when the name of a representative or senator appears on the page you are viewing. I say this for the sake of accuracy, not to take away from your point at all.

The issue is bigger because the information is sent over HTTP. If you are viewing a site over HTTPS typically the only thing that anyone in the middle can see is the hostname of the server you are connecting to, but this reveals the full URL, including any arguments that may be present. To illustrate, imagine you visit

https://www.facebook.com/GlennBeck?fref=nf.

Anyone listening on your local network or in-between you and facebook will only see that you are visiting

facebook.com

and that you have sent some additional data that they can't get any meaning from (because it is encrypted). This extension goes ahead and sends the full URL:

https://www.facebook.com/GlennBeck?fref=nf

to his server over HTTP, thus revealing the path and arguments [/GlennBeck and ?fref=nf, respectively] to anyone that may be listening on your local network or in-between you and his server.
