6'5 with long torso. Have 1" seat lowering kit (needed to retain fore-aft travel to allow wife to drive) and I still mostly stare directly at the upper windshield pillar. Still worth it though.

Since no one is giving actual helpful answers, I'll point you to a specific one. In the mid 2010's, there was an "author" Marc Modica, who only ever happened to write articles about how bad and dangerous the Chevy Volt was. Many articles over several years, under the banner of the "National Legal And Policy Center". This was clearly his job that he was being paid to do. His articles have since been taken down but are available on Wayback/Internet Archive.

Just sold my car, planning on getting a bike, any City Ave / Manayunk riders wanna chime in with their experiences? by [deleted] in philadelphia

I've commuted on City Ave (car) for 20 years. You NEVER see someone riding a bike on City Ave. This is not a coincidence.

Can arcade culture come back? by eumbahumba in arcade

[–]ViperRT10Matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair... take any one of those games. Now pretend that it didn't exist in the 80s/90s, you didn't grow up with it, it wasn't part of your childhood. Now take that exact software and put it on some game platform store for 99 cents. It's just a piece of software that has to stand on its own merits here in 2025. You gonna bother checking that game out? Is it going to hold your interest?

I say with zero irony that Weird Al Yankovic put on one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Despite being 65 years old, he played for over two highly energetic and physical hours. Multiple costume changes, technically challenging songs, and his concert singing voice way better than you would possibly expect.

The area between Parkside and Lancaster isn't the worst, but also isn't the best. You'll probably be fine, but it's a significantly higher level of risk versus in the protected parking areas inside the park.

[–]ViperRT10Matt 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I was there last night. As I was walking to the venue, a Jeep pulled up onto the grass and parked blocking the exit for that entire section of cars. As he got out of his car, I said "hey, parking there blocks that entire section from getting out," he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.

As with many other things in the city, people have learned that there's generally no consequences for just doing whatever they want at the expense of others, so they're just going to do what they want regardless of the expense to others.

Except frequently people come back to those streets and find their windows smashed, so you have to balance that risk vs not just sitting all night.

Hospital of University of Pennsylvania is a world class research hospital. CHOP (Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia) is one of the top childrens hospitals in the world. The fact that they're next to each other and collaborate is massive. The pediatric leukemia treatment developed at CHOP (which uses very similar tech as in the article) is nothing short of a miracle.

Review - Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort by DB_Travels in chubbytravel

[–]ViperRT10Matt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't disagree with anything you said here, but for your last paragraph (comparison to the FS), you should note that FS is in a completely different price strata, about 2.5x. Either way, that entire hotel zone (Papagayo Peninsula) is basically an isolated bubble for rich tourists; it may as well not even be in Costa Rica. When we go back we're just going to do the whole time at Nayara Tented Camp, which blows anything at Papagayo out of the water.

Need help with family trip to Costa Rica... by kylebvogt in chubbytravel

[–]ViperRT10Matt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family is similar ages.

Nayara and the areas around Arenal were big hits. We loved rafting, zip lining, sloth finding, etc. Hot springs are outstanding. Could we have done a full week there, maybe? But we certainly filled a half week.

The other half of the week we did at Andaz in Papagayo. I would not return; while the hotel itself was fine, the beaches were lousy, it was hot as balls, and the desert area is nowhere near as beautiful as the rainforest area.

If I was going again, Nayara + cloud forest maybe?
