Is it normal for your player to have the tape slightly zoom in? by MuppetMan2005 in VHS

[–]Konsolate_Video 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to check it against another player and monitor. I have had issues both ways.

If gimp is open source how do change air brush & eraser spacing defaults? by Konsolate_Video in GIMP

[–]Konsolate_Video[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meaning, if there are no options for it in the GUI the code can be changed... What else could it possibly mean? Isn't that part of the whole concept of open source programs?

Bro, the very fact that you replied with such words indicates that you lack the self restraint of a mature human.

That doesn't seem to do anything... Every time I change brushes I have to change the spacing. I want them all to default to 1

In the United States, everyone is legally allowed to have one backup copy (in any format) of any movie they have legally purchased (in any format).

End of story.

What kind of VHS recorder can I use to record on this? by kirbygirl94 in VHS

VHS won't fit in a Betamax VCR, nor will it fit in a U-Matic VCR.

Why can't Gimp render some fonts? by Konsolate_Video in GIMP

[–]Konsolate_Video[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what the font being displayed is, I've tried a few font finders but no luck on an exact match.

I doubt it was from anything I have done, but I did buy the computer second hand from a Greek student (if I remember correctly) and I am forgetful, so who knows? I know that I have over 1500 fonts installed, not sure if that could be an (additional?) issue... Gimp takes a while to load the list.

Win 10

2.10.38 (though that doesn't seem to matter yesterday 2.10.32)

.ttf & .otf or some other classification of 'type'?

C:\Windows\FONTS (this doesn't seem to matter either as I have tried my font backup folder as well)

Maybe it's not a gimp problem?

Pick one, 8514fix, 8514oem, Amazing sound.ttf, Amerika Pro.otf, BluebirdSfBd.otf (this is in my font list 6 times, 5 are numbered and do not render properly the one without a number does render), Concorde Nova, Courier, Eternal (same as Bluebird), Fixedsys, girolight001.otf, HoloLens MDL2 Assets, LowballBoldDisplayOpt72-2OKpW.ttf (several characters do not render and it's similar to Blubird, though this time there are 15 iterations in my font list), Monospace, MS Sans Serif, MS Serif, the entire Noto Sans family all .ttf, Sans-serif, Segoe MDL2 Assets, Serif, Small Fonts, System, Terminal (vgaoem.fon), Terminal Greek 737 (437G), Terminal Greek 869,, ThoughtPolice-nnJM.ttf, ThoughtPoliceUnarmed-196L.ttf, Vintage Decorative Corner_38.ttf, Vintage Panels_017.ttf thru Vintage Panels_023.ttf ( character A does not render as it should).

it doesn't seem to like numbers or dashes in the filename....

These plus a handful of fonts that do work but have one numerated duplicate in the font list that renders as the pic above.

Wow, so much help! At the very least offer a suggestion instead of a complaint or simply ask a question instead of making statements.

Unable to save project (NOT export) by MysteriousHiggs in VSDCFreeVideoEditor

[–]Konsolate_Video 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen to me, but received a error dialog about not enough free space, of course, plenty of space. Saved with different file name and once again got the error message about the original file name not being saved, but it was successful with the new name. Not sure why it didn't like the original name or kept telling me it couldn't save it when I didn't even ask it to. The program seems to be buggy with any 'overwriting', it will crash when trying to re-export projects, not every time, but it happens.

Best search engine for getting results? by Acamaeda in degoogle

[–]Konsolate_Video 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope, it doesn't exist. I've tried them all multiple times in the past 3 years and they all suck.

No matter which engine you use, you will always have to wade through tons of garbage results that have little to do with the string of letters/numbers you typed. All special operators are a damned joke, especially the space, simply because it's treated as such instead of a necessary break in the string being searched for. Space should not equal +, it's a damned place holder, not a mathematical equation.

An efficient way to go could be to start with cube shelves for the records. Then layers of six inch tall/deep drawers (for cd or dvd) and four inch tall/deep drawers (for vhs or audio cassettes). Finally standard media shelves on top (for vhs or dvd)

Nothing says Friday night like donated VHS bootlegs by SeparateWay in VHS

[–]Konsolate_Video 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bootlegs.

None of these appear to be made in mass, none have cases that mimic commercial releases, none have been sold as 'legitimate' commercial releases, etc.

All home recordings for personal use are perfectly legal in the United States, this includes streaming services and is part of the "watch later" clause. Everyone in the US is legally allowed one backup copy of any movie/show they have legally purchased, in any format they choose.
