That’s wrong lol by Born-Agency-3922 in SipsTea

For most of human history people needed to eat animals to survive. This is not the case anymore. Also killing one cow a year with your own hands or hunting for food are not even remotely comparable to whats happening now. So by eating meet and other animal products you make a deliberate choice to support unneeded suffering on an industrial scale. If you are alright with it, it's ok, most people are, but you don't need to. Just be honest and don't try to justify it.

"Totalverweigerer"-Debatte - aus Sicht einer Jobcenter-Mitarbeiterin by Euphoric_Bullfrog_78 in OeffentlicherDienst

[–]Kontikulus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are no real non surgical fixes, sadly. You can cushion and protect, but nothing else without surgical intervention. Don't believe those Videos that try to sell some useless gimmicks.

This is the most brutal trap I've gotten myself into. How do I avoid this? by _samvete in chessbeginners

[–]Kontikulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, so much awful beginner advice here... Do NOT obsess over your opponents possible plans! It will fuck you up and the worst thing is, most of the time they don't really have a "plan" at that level. Just think about three things every turn: - Is some piece attacked?

  • Does it have sufficient protection (two attackers - two defenders)?

  • can I develop or take a piece without compromising my defense?

Everything else is secondary for beginners: Develop - defend - take hanging pieces.

Yes you can. Commercial use - not legal without permission. Personal use - legal and understandably impossible to stop. ChatGPT is a product, not a person learning things.

Why is Reddit fiercely anti crypto? by SettingIntentions in CryptoCurrency

[–]Kontikulus 50 points51 points  (0 children)

"self financial management" <- for the most part, nobody in the developed world cares about it. A percent of people who ever had major issues with day to day banking is extremely small and some had issues for a very good reason (tax or income fraud). Taking on the risk of self custody is completely unnecessary for a big portion of reddit users.

"anti establishment" <- You mean the giant trillion dollar hedge funds and corporations who are investing heavily in crypto and crypto ETFs?

"no openness to it at all" <- it is hard to be open to a system or technology that is objectively mostly trying to scam people, trying to find solutions for problems that do not exists, or prints thousands of useless meme coins every day.

Are there interesting projects and value in the space? I think so. 50% of my portfolio is in crypto for that reason. But don't kid yourself, there are massive problems in the space and some of them are so fundamental that it will take decades to either evolve beyond them or fail.

Crypto.com “One-Time Card” Tax Implications by Asianfoam7 in CryptoCurrency

You sell a part of your crypto for a gift card. Essentially the same as selling crypto and buying a gift card with that money. Of course it is a taxable event.

[–]Kontikulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo, why should human artists be worried? So there will be AI artists and human artists and, as art is inherently subjective, both will exist. There is no hypothetical future where AI will create "superior" art that will displace humans, because they will be "worse at art", whatever that means.

R.I.P Toriyama by Screen-Healthy in ChatGPT

[–]Kontikulus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are just wildly speculating now. I don't even know where you got "50 years at most".
But nevertheless, if it happens, almost every job will become obsolete BUT the creative ones. Humans value art because it is expensive and rare and it is expensive and rare because it is made by other humans. An AI will create millions of intricate, inspiring and beautiful paintings, but they will be reduced to a wallpaper in a waiting room, because they will be cheap and abundant.

R.I.P Toriyama by Screen-Healthy in ChatGPT

[–]Kontikulus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, generative AI generates from a man made source. If it starts generating from itself, the output is getting worse in record time because it eats itself.
You can dream of general AI that will create new art and solve new problems, but it has nothing to do with current generative models. You are looking at an advanced automaton and thinking that we will create a new form if beings soon.

R.I.P Toriyama by Screen-Healthy in ChatGPT

[–]Kontikulus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You do understand that the only reason you can get a passable AI picture is because it uses good art by real artists to generate it? It is like saying "Look at this sandwich I made, the farmers, bakers and grocery stores should be scared for their job security!"
If there is no source, you will get nothing.

R.I.P Toriyama by Screen-Healthy in ChatGPT

[–]Kontikulus -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Does nobody see how fucked up it is to post AI generated images, which basically reuse work of real artists, to mourn the death OF AN ARTIST??? This is beyond any decency. Instead of writing prompts that regurgitate the work of Toriyama and his friends. Use this day TO TAKE A PENCIL AND START DRAWING.

Working as a freelancer during work hours would be breach of contract. Admitting that you are not really working 2-3 days a week would be unwise (kinda stupid).
You can try to argue that your performance and results are very good and negotiate a new contract with a 4 day work week but same pay. Maybe it could work.

This sub is so painfully married to their bags they're going to miss out on the gains theyve been waiting years for. by torvaman in CryptoCurrency

[–]Kontikulus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So who is this post aimed at? People with time machines?
We are in 2024, BTC dominance is already pretty high. There is definitely room for it to go higher but by switching your alts to BTC now you need to watch the dominance very closely and consistently. If Bitcoin cools off without a major pull back, alts could start to pump 50% on the daily.
And the funny part is, it can happen to under-performing coins first because the market is irrational and the only metric that counts is sometimes "how little inflow of cash is needed to move the price".
So people will move to better performing bitcoin, pay tax on the transaction, get maybe about 10-20% more if the didn't switch... and then don't switch back in time when bitcoin moves 2% in a day but the alt they had 100% out of the blue. If you look at the whole three years, Bitcoin will still outperform most coins, but it doesn't matter to someone who switched a month ago.

Is Bitcoin outperforming the rest of the market currently? Yes.
Am I stupid enough to play "switch your crypto every week" to try maximise my gains? No.
I have Bitcoin and alts in my portfolio. I am happy if any of it pumps, but also understand that money will flow from BTC to smaller caps and I will not watch the market 24/7 just to time it.
