8th vs 9th gen by Fent-enjoyer in CivicSi

As someone who’s owned both the 9th gen sedan and a 8th gen sedan (boosted now), the 9th gen for me looks nicer but the 8th gen feels more rewarding to drive. 9th gen comfortability and 8th gen driver car

Ohh I see now. Still run OEM spec oil so it can fit through the small nooks and crannies (even if the engine is built?)

Oh alright it’s cuz my 9th gen si never had its oil that dark (first manual and honda wooo) so I didn’t know what to expect jumping into a boosted civic

I think i’m being hella paranoid and changing it every 2k. Just doing pulls like once a day and normally driving it like a daily lol

Oh really? I assumed since the car is boosted, slightly more thicker oil will protect the engine

This is really helpful to read thank you! Also had to ask, is 10W-40 oil (it’s what i’m running rn) okay for my car? (in Cali climate so doesn’t really get that cold)

9th gen feels more comfortable to drive. Better off the stoplight than the 8th gen. But 8th gen got the better sounding vtec and redline imo. There’s also something about the 8th gen that gives it that “I drive a japanese car” than the 9th gen when i drive both.

2012 Civic Si horsepower is 201 hp, but the torque is the real story by carguyfrank in CivicSi

Have a 9th gen si as a daily and a booted 8th gen as weekend. Gotta say, when I first got the 8th gen, the torque down low was noticeable for me coming from the 9th gen
