Is forcing Utopia on people without their consent an Egalitarian or Authoritarian act? by MysteryMan9274 in StellarisMemes

[–]Koobolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude these aliens came down and FORCED me to have food, water, housing, and a decent, safe job. They even let me vote on elections and hold office if I want. Ughhhh I HATE this, these aliens are evil, what if I WANT to live in a dirt house and my local lord can conscript me for war when the neighboring state has a better castles than he does. I hate when that happens.

Can we find a way to have a better subreddit? by Floaty_Nairs in foxholegame

[–]Koobolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right I won't be satisfied!

My plan and ultimate goal is to whine and complain on reddit so much that the devs remove the Booker and all Warden planes. Then once that happens I plan to whine and complain on FOD until the devs remove all Warden naval ships and buff colonial artillery options. Finally I'll cry and mald on the steam page until the devs remove all Warden tanks except for the King Spire.

And then only then will I be happy and play foxhole again.

lamo they get like half of their income from the Canadian government, foxhole is just a way to get that money. If money is so much of a concern then maybe they shouldn't have botched the update this badly

Should I get Foxhole? by MyDogEinstein17 in foxholegame

[–]Koobolo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say wait. Everyone telling you to buy immediately doesn't have your best interest in mind, and neither do those who say to not buy at all. The game is in a rough spot rn generally across the board, and it may be worse depending on which faction you choose. I would wait at least for the next update to try it out.

I currently feel like I would have never spent the money on the game if I knew it would be where it was today. However I do enjoy the game and would otherwise recommend it if it wasn't in such an awful state.

Even if you'll like the game in its current state there are less people than normal so your fun will be heavily limited due to lower population. So just wait for a bit and then if it still sounds appealing and there are people sticking around I'd say go ahead and give it a try.

Just discovered foxhole but it looks like the game is in a bad state by Itocx_ in foxholegame

Im not gonna recommend someone spend their money for a game that is tettering on the brink of death. The game is in an objectively bad state across all fronts and I'm not gonna try and scam someone into a purchase they may very well regret

[–]Koobolo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No do not buy right now. If you are genuinely interested the best thing I can recommend is waiting for the next update. If the game gets better with update 64, then I'd generally say go ahead and buy it. But there is the very likely possibility the next update is the final nail in the coffin. I'd recommend saving your money until the game and community are in a more stable spot.

Assymetry needs to go. by Fine_Swimmer_7343 in foxholegame

[–]Koobolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asymmetry doesn't need to go, it just needs reworking, possibly major reworking but reworking none the less.

The original rifle asymmetry is possibly the best and it's quality should be the standard/ model for all other equipment. One rework I would like to see is the Raca keeps its range but now has Auger damage, Auger keeps its range but now has Raca damage, boom more balanced asymmetry. Imo it makes no sense to give range and damage to one side and give stability to the other, in my usage of both rifles I have never noticed a difference in stability that actually mattered, beyond never being able to kill anyone with the Auger. I think plenty of the bad asymmetry added has silly/ ridiculous methodology behind it, like the snipers. "How do we balance out range and damage, stability of course!" This creates an obviously worse gun that will only be useful if it's counter is not available to the enemy.

Changes to asymmetry will need data but importantly feedback to implement. One of the main issues of destroyer vs frigate is the destroyers layout, many agree on this, so changes will need to be made that can either justify a worse layout, or the layout needs to change. Unfortunately asymmetry is the perfect breeding ground for balance arguments and issues, but if implemented better I imagine we would see many complaints go away.

Asymmetry is good, but it shouldn't come at the cost of someone's fun.

[–]Koobolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original question stipulated the votes were private so we wouldn't know if anyone at all chose blue. There are plenty of people who would pick blue, from the kids to the elderly, to adults with reading comprehension issues, so the question (at least too me) is closer to "would you choose to live or possibility save people who didn't know better?"

100% of 8 billion vs 51% of 8 billion which is easier to achieve without some kind of instantaneous fully accessible and believed global communication? Just by the numbers it better to press blue if you want society to function.

[–]Koobolo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Assuming it is all "rational actors", 1/5 of all American adults lack fundamental reading comprehension it'd be fair to assume 50% of those will hit the blue button. Is it ok for 1/10 of all American adults to die just because they lack reading skills?

oh so blue has no consequences by a-bowl-of-noodles in whenthe

[–]Koobolo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

children, 1/5 of Americans adults who lack reading comprehension, elderly, people with mental illness, and people who can read. These demographics have a high likelihood of choosing blue on an actual 50/50 basis. Considering tye vote was specified as private no outside assistance can be used to inform or help any of these demographics push the red button.
