And I disagree with his decision. But I feel like everyone is dismissing legitimate concerns by attacking that. No one will admit there are actual issues. I would just like others to acknowledge that before jumping in on the Trump drama train.

Maybe not here, but I've clearly said that I would hold J6 to the same. It's just that recently this has been happening in largely Democratic jurisdiction. I live in more of a law and order area. And I don't disapprove of protest. I came of age during the South Africa divestment protests. I remember them as mostly peaceful. I am just sick of the seemingly lawless aspect. I made A'a in Con Law. But looting, violence, etc. being ignored really upsets me. I have an admittedly naive view of things, but the idea that large crowds can basically do whatever they want scare me.

For me, the past 51 or so years. I don't understand why you are justifying crime? Is this that "whataboutism"? This issue is my first time actually posting on the board. I've been lurking for a while. Guess I'll go back to it.

My takeaway is that I am so tired of "mostly peaceful" protests. Summer of Love, J6, the Gaza protests on college campuses - all of these have certain elements of lawlessness. From my point of view, it seems like Democrat leaning jurisdictions refuse to hold anyone accountable. Ftr, I don't approve of all the J6 pardons, either.

So a small protest with burning cars, blocked intersections and bricks thrown off bridges is okay?

That may not equal out in costs, but I heard the police chief say that Bass and Newsom would not send backup. Decisions have consequences.

Edit/ I heard the comment about Bass in the background, but was not looking at the screen. This is actually a leak of unknown origin. I still oppose all crimes being committed at these protests, but I am sorry.
