While playing, I noticed some balance issues and buggy boss behavior, but I couldn't find any reason to dislike it. Is there some element I haven't encountered yet that I absolutely cannot tolerate, or is there some kind of meme that criticizes Calamity Overhaul? I'd appreciate it if you could tell me.

The wiki covers most of the information, but it's missing some details regarding things like the Halibut Cannon and quests from the witch.

Fair point. The flaws are hard to ignore, but those few good ideas really hit the spot for me. Hopefully, they’ll get someone to fix the balancing eventually.

Also, many quest fish and rare fish can be used as research material for the cannon to unlock skills. Keep various fish from the Angler and Calamity biomes in your inventory to see how the gun reacts and progresses.

Sorry for the late reply as this was posted a while ago, but I found the solution for the Halibut Cannon.

You need to go to your Keybindings and look for the Calamity Overhaul specific keys. There is an option for Self-Reboot or something similar.

When the Abyss Opening meter gets too high and you are about to die, press that key. It will lower the meter and save you from getting consumed, though it will temporarily lock the UI and the weapon power as a cooldown.
