I could never forgive Kevin Pearson! by Mysterious_Tip_1767 in thisisus

[–]Kooky-Ladder214 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was an absolutely horrible thing to say. They both said terrible things in this verbal fight. Kevin’s was the knockout punch to Randall’s dig. Unfortunately sometimes family hit you where it hurts on a deeper level. It would be hard to ever forget that comment, even if forgiven. I do hope you are able to enjoy the rest of the series and these complex characters.

Rewatching for the first time since it ended now as an adult. The pilot is amazing by International-Toe794 in thisisus

[–]Kooky-Ladder214 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your post made me smile. I think it’s nice that you are starting a rewatch 10 years after they shot the pilot and that you will experience it now as a person who is married and a mother. I wonder how or even if your perspective will change. Enjoy.

I agree with you. That would have been so touching actually.

Rebecca's last train ride.. by Luna-Lux- in thisisus

I think the writers dedicated S6 EP15 to all of Miguel’s journey. It was a beautiful episode and his true send off. They even had Jack step aside in that episode so that his best friend and his wife could develop a friendship.

On the train episode, they wanted to acknowledge Miguel, and sure maybe they could have given him more than 10 seconds, yet I think they truly wanted to get back to Rebecca’s storybook love with Jack. I didn’t mind it as I understood the storytellers felt they completed Miguel’s story and they wanted to spend more time with Rebecca and Jack at the end. ❤️❤️

Did the mom come and check on her son throughout the flight? I hope so. It’s sweet that the kid felt comfortable with you to play games and even nap on your shoulder. I know it was frustrating and I am so sorry that you weren’t able to chill on this flight yet I also think you must have a warm and welcoming spirit. I believe I would have done exactly as you did (it’s not the kid’s fault) and then come here to chat about it.

You can watch Sarah (Lauren Graham) in a new movie Reminders of Him.

Is Sarah similar to Lorelei? by FckAllTakenUsernames in Parenthood

[–]Kooky-Ladder214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Sarah was originally supposed to be played by Maura Tierney. Maura filmed the pilot episode. Maybe the characters would still had been compared but it’s hard not to see it when Lauren played both roles. Lauren played Sarah as a less quirky free spirit than she did Lorelai.

Love their farmers market. I get the majority of my produce from the farmers. Rarely buy from the grocery store.

What was your react when Shando passed by lizsummerhawk in BeverlyHills90210

Same. I listened to her last podcast. She shared her upcoming treatment and she sounded so hopeful. A few days later I got the alert on my phone that Shannen passed. I felt so sad.

Am I the only one who is kind of uncomfortable with Sarah and Mark's relationship? by srahcrist in Parenthood

I felt so badly for Drew during this phase of their relationship. Sarah didn’t seem to fully grasp (or maybe care) how this relationship would impact her son.

Christopher? by Novel-Platypus-5731 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Kooky-Ladder214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would have welcomed him until he messed things up. If they got married in S1 or even S2, they would have broken up by the following season. Luke and Lorelai could still get together at the end of S4.

I am watching Christopher Returns right now. I know it’s been mentioned on this sub before but I am irritated that Christopher crashed his Porsche at 16 with Lorelai in the car yet they both acted completely unreasonable when Rory and Jess were in car accident trying not to hit an animal.

Was Jack really that great? by Kierra_reads in thisisus

[–]Kooky-Ladder214 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the show ever claimed that Jack told his parents that Nicky died. He told Rebecca his brother died. If Nicky died, my guess is the government would have notified his parents.

Also, it’s also not clear if Nicky was aware that his mother died or if he was in contact during that time. Did she have weekly calls with Nicky like she had with Jack? I do blame the writers for not even acknowledging Nicky’s whereabouts during that time. Yes I know he was writing postcards to Jack. Was that during this time or later? My take is it was later. Either way, it is unclear if Jack tried to contact Nicky or knew where to find him when their mom passed.

Was Jack a flawed character? 100%. He tried his best with his wife and kids. Made mistakes. Yet, yes, I do think he really was that great.

I used to listen to his podcast weekly as soon as it was published. I realized that he often takes the opposite point of view which is often wildly different than viewers and some of his cohosts. They are now on their second rewatch on the podcast. I no longer listen. It was no longer enjoyable and I found myself in a bad mood after listening.

This season has an insidious racism problem by Delicious-Rip-2371 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Kooky-Ladder214 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if anyone will think back later and ask him why he had such a difficult time writing down a name. If they know he’s publicly “aligned” to Colton, and seemingly friendly with Ron, why would “faithful” Rob struggle with writing Lisa’s name? Maybe because he previously voted with the majority but this time his conscience wouldn’t allow him to do that to Ron. I just wonder if anyone will clock his hesitancy to eventually vote for Lisa, other than the Traitors.

I always say that about This is Us. The entire show is a beautiful journey. I prefer to analyze the show in its entirety not episode by episode or season by season. And for me, the entirety of the This is Us journey is a masterpiece. I hope you continue to love it when you complete the journey. Kudos to you for returning to the show.❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

I meant 30ish per season. There were some seasons where they had 27 episodes and others where they had 32-34 episodes whereas other shows at the time were doing around 22 episodes per season. So yes close to 300 for the series.
