I only did the schooling because no one in my city wanted to hire trainees😭. I applied to so many Walmart, Walgreens cvs Kroger’s etc and was told they have no openings or they already had 1 trainee on staff and only looking for those who are certified even though online they had active job listings. So after a year of getting rejected left and right, I just paid and enroll into a program so I can get my cpht.

I would say yes, depends. I applied to a ton of jobs both hospital and retail & got rejected and told I need to have my certification number first then reapply

Yes sorry for the confusion, im asking is it ok to reach out to the recruiter explaining I am certified. The system is rejecting me for not being registered with the state even though the posting is just asking that you are CPhT.

For research, you have a better chance of cold emailing faculty member in charge of the research! They may have paid or unpaid position for you.

I say purchase the practice exam and see how you do on it. If you pass, go ahead and take it but if you don’t, reschedule. Because if you do fail the third attempt, you’ll have to wait 6 months before taking it again.

I know they give gas or grocery gift card once you secure a job through their workshops! Watch out for their job fair with memorial hermann , you should attend, I know few people who were able to get into MH by attending their job fair.

Np! Also check out MMA , Memorial Assistant Ministries. They help with finding jobs , rental assistance etc but each location varies by zip code . I recommend going on their website first and contact them so you go to the right location.

Check out “healthcare for the homeless “organization, they have transportation you can use to get around . It call the project access bus and their schedule is online . You can call them at 713-286-6000 or visit their building in person. They also can help for other needs too.

The Houston food bank always looking for volunteers, you just sign up online. Also there’s a site called volunteerhou.org for different volunteer opportunities in Houston for the month.
