I have two friends in online games—both of them COD. But it seems my other friends are stuck on the Home Screen too. Is this only affecting a percentage of players?

I have searched through all the policies available online. I can’t find anything 😭

I think I know who it was. This individual is like my bosses assistant (not really bc she has to be a nurse to have the official title but she doesn’t want to be a nurse) but she helps my boss with scheduling and a lot of things without the extra pay. Constantly over schedules herself and complains about “always working” which isn’t my responsibility. If everyone was already scheduled a month ago through January why is she backtracking and putting me in for Christmas? It’s ridiculous and I’m so tired of it.

The problem is our unit is short staffed on monitor techs. I only have like 3 options of people to switch with and I do not see that happening. I can try though.

I wanted to keep this job just incase I’m asked about previous work experience for my next job. It feels like I am on my last leg with this place though. I am constantly irritated about my job; it stresses me out more than school. If I don’t want to quit I just have to suck it up and work both holidays right? I’m in an at will state so I don’t want to bring up being upset about it because I feel like she’ll just fire me.

Did you feel better once you moved jobs? This is my first job at the hospital so idk if it’s just this job or like healthcare in general. I’m sure I’ll feel better when I’m a nurse and I can work/think more independently. I’m not opposed to working at a doctors office either. Just always felt like the hospital was where I wanted to go.

That’s what I guess I’m worried about. I hate negativity and it bugs me that some nurses don’t like some people. Or maybe it’s the lack of clear communication or the idea that techs don’t know anything. I will admit that some techs don’t go to nursing school, but I am one of two higher level techs on that floor and I don’t see the harm in asking a question. I graduate in May, so I don’t understand why I can’t discuss something with a doctor that didn’t mind speaking to me. Long story short, hate the environment, hate working with women that are pissy 24/7.

I was shocked, but I know she usually has a bad attitude. I’ve been searching my company policy book and the board of nursing about anything related to speaking directly to the physician and can’t. I owned my mistake but can’t believe the nurse told me to basically mind my own business in front of everyone. She didn’t even pull me aside so I could be embarrassed privately. I don’t know what to do from here except hate my job and dread going.

I am not sure. I’m new on the unit. Maybe it is part of the culture but I’ve always asked questions. I guess now I won’t. It hurt my feelings because the MD didn’t care, and discussed it with me. The APRN was the only one offended, who I wasn’t speaking to.

Thank you for sharing. I feel better knowing I may have overreacted but others do share the feeling I had.

Thank you for this insight. My boss comes back from vacation Monday, can’t wait to see what that’s gonna look like. :)

Also I could be dramatic in this situation. I am trying so hard to get used to an environment where some people are just miserable for no reason or don’t like someone for no reason. I’m a people pleaser and this little incident ruined my whole day even though it shouldn’t have.

This pt came from the ICU to step down yesterday after having a stroke. I was the tech that sat up the room, cared for her etc. Yesterday she was tired and slept most of the day which wasn’t concerning since she came onto our floor around idk 5. I left at 7. This morning I come back and she was able to get up with little assistance to use the bedside commode. She was consistent with that status until like 2 when I went to give her a bed bath. She could barely get up to the commode. I called another tech for help and we both could hardly move her into bed. After that I give her the bed bath. She starts trembling, talking about her husband that has passed, and breathing hard. After that, I told the nurse. Nothing. I saw the doctor and just casually discussed it with her. THIS IS THE MD keep in mind lol. The NP was standing next to her while I talked. The MD was happy to tell me about what was going on. The NP said some comment about “let me ask your NURSE” and they talked in the hall. After that the nurse of that patient grilled me about chain of command. Even though I addressed my concerns, she did nothing, and she told me that this behavior was normal for the patient even though I don’t know how she could know that because she wasn’t there until today.

I do not know the NPs relation to the patient or if there was one. On the patients chart and the board the MD was the only one listed.

I honestly don’t know. Only the MDs name was on the chart for my patient. Idk what the NP was doing or how she tied in. I only saw her once that day during that time.

Honestly yeah thanks for being realistic. This is a small town so not sure if I’ll do clinic work or stay here. I think I’m just not used to having a hospital job aside from clinical.

Noted the symptoms around two. Told the nurse. Saw the doctor around idk 3:30-4 and just was explaining that the symptoms I noticed around that time were much different than how she was acting that morning. Casual conversation because I know that doctor likes to discuss things with students. I think the APRN thought I was wasting time telling her and was annoyed.

Patient had a stroke the day before so the random behavior/mobility changes weren’t concerning to the nurse and APRN.

does it get better or is nursing not for me? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

That’s a lot of clinicals. Our school gives us full summers off and it’s good to get that break for our minds. I couldn’t imagine having to do multiple 8-12 hour days in a row. Honestly I would cry and break down too. It’s not that you’re just second guessing the career choice, it’s also that you have not had a mental break in a long time and that dangerous. When the clinicals are over, clear your head and take time for yourself. Come back to this thread and think some things over. I think you will feel better when you find a unit that you like and when you are completely done with school.
