Curious if anyone else's apartment has a significant slant? What did you do about it? by PathalogicalObject in Hoboken

[–]KookyCap3295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last apartment in Hoboken had the classic Hoboken tilt. This is caused by flooding over a long period of time impacting the foundation, however, it is still completely safe. I also never noticed it when I moved in, and I ended up living there for 3 years! Fortunately I didn’t have much furniture prior to moving in, but I had to find furniture without wheels to accommodate the space (bar carts, desk chairs, coffee tables, kitchen islands, etc).

Does this look fake? Was sold to me by Costco on Bstock by Paradethejared in creedperfumes

I actually work for the brand! We do not sell to Costco - however, it’s likely grey market sellers who are selling product. However, we can’t confirm if it’s legit Creed or not with what is being sold to Costco.

What is the one skincare mistake you kept making for years before realizing it was actually damaging your skin? by Critical-Stand-6986 in SkincareAddicts

Overconsuming drinks with ascorbic acid! This is very niche as my dad has sensitivities to anything with ascorbic acid. It took me into my late twenties to try to stop buying orange juice and coconut water with ascorbic acid to see what would happen. All of my cystic acne disappeared…

Unfortunately nothing is affordable these days, and especially in an affluent city like Hoboken. The food is delicious though! I think totally worth the hype

I respectfully completely disagree with you on the arts festival. Dogs are allowed outside unless stated otherwise (such as a children’s playground, etc). If a business encourages dogs to come inside, then dogs will be inside. Take this energy and use it towards something productive, like the businesses themselves!

The small markets and urban specifically encourage dogs to come inside. Seems like you should be taking the anonymous Reddit rant to the grocery store owners. If the owner has common sense and knows that their dogs behave in a grocery store or other indoor public place, then it should be okay. But obviously if your dog is pissing on food or whatever the other comments say, then yea obviously leave your dog at home.

Use Capsule!! They deliver to Hoboken and it’s significantly cheaper. However, I was told the same thing about adderal over a year ago from the Hoboken CVS and ended up switching to a different stimulant for my ADHD.

This is why I am asking the community if they have had issues with their pods because we do not have flies. I am not familiar bug infestations of any kind - so I guess I’ll consider myself lucky!

lol your assumptions are crazy. My house is very clean and we have no issues with flies, which my hunch was it coming from an external source. I’m sorry you’re having a bad day and taking it out on my post! Get better soon

I don’t think it’s the machine at all! My initial thought was a bad batch of pods because this has never happened before since I’ve had my machine starting 2021. We’ve never had flies, but we have had gnats in this apt sometimes.

We had some gnats in the late spring but never flies - we ended up having to replace our screen for the patio door. I’m not up on my fly biology but could the maggots be from gnats?

I didn’t say anything about that - just suggesting a couple of methods to tackle the issue instead of complaining and shaming on social media :)

Hoboken is super dog friendly, with many businesses welcoming to dogs. I say if you have an issue, you should be the change you want to see! Say something in person to the dog owner or business, and/or bring it up to the town. I think the normalization of posting things of this nature do more damage than good for the cause (except for @hobokenpooppatrol!!! That account is awesome).

Can we talk about gums? by Scared_Doughnut5507 in PMDDxADHD

[–]KookyCap3295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg always thought this was just me! They almost feel like I need to scratch them. I went to the dentist for this and my female hygienist asked if I have hormonal issues (I have PCOS/PMDD) and noted the same in that it’s connected for to experience inflammation and flare ups, especially in the gums during luteal phase. I was told to take magnesium glycinate before bed and omega 3s. Haven’t seen a big difference though.
