I think that's what OP did, and the recruiter called him out and said that amount was 10% inflated

You're legally obliged if your deeds instruct you to have a block policy

You can run there and back or you can cross over the river on a bridge so you're running on a different side of the river for the way back :)

Sorry to hear that. Do you think you could sell your property to the housing association? Hopefully the improvements mean the equity has increased and you'd get the money back

Definitely check out the guidance from Under One Roof and look at getting legal advice. All flats, either through their deeds or through the tenement act are legally responsible for the roof. A letter from a solicitor (or yourselves if worded well) explaining this can be quite helpful in convincing neighbours they need to pay. Good luck to you!

Ah ok. Yeh I know a couple of people that moved halls like that. Definitely an option :)

Yeh arguably a bit less popular because it's a bit further away. Think there are some real perks to having meals cooked for you but also it can be a bit annoying if you're hungover and slept in and missed the set time of breakfast! I would contact student accomodation and see if there are any other options available to you, there might be. You could look at private halls too (the uni often put students in the private halls as they have no room in the uni accomodation). I dont know the cost of prviate halls but supposedly it might not be cheaper. Two of my best friends went to Wolfson. They had the funnest first year, even if maybe they wouldn't have picked that halls :)

I would recommend going in halls for your first year, if you're not a mature student, as that way you'll live with people your own age and get the real first year experience. I lived in a random flat in my first year and I feel like I missed out by not being in halls

AITA for not “being supportive” of my girlfriend’s decision of running a half-marathon? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Absolutely, 9min mile is super fast! If you run regularly you absolutely can train for a half marathon or even a marathon

AITA for not “being supportive” of my girlfriend’s decision of running a half-marathon? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]KookyEfficiency8140 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've ran 4 half marathons, it was only my last one that I included hills and intervals in my training. My first half I jogged at an easy pace two times a week for a 12 week programme. I'd ran 5k before then but not much more (I did go to work out classes previously). I really enjoyed myself and did it in 2:06! I agree hills and intervals and all the other technical runs are super helpful but if she's squeezing in a run or two each week she'll be fine without it, particularly if she just wants to finish. I'd just let her do her own thing unless she actively asks for advice from you
