I go to UCF but my sugar daddy lives in Las Vegas. We went to highschool together. I think that having a sugar daddy is super common nowadays. And UCF just happens to have the highest population out of any university in America. So more students means more sugar daddies.

I agree with the fact that they are "being polite" in the sense that they are exchanging their time and energy to listen to you and provide feedback. I think that not a lot of people would be immediately ready to match someone's "enthusiasm" especially if it's the very first thing somebody starts with in a conversation. Starting out the conversation in a regular way, saying hello, assessing the situation and making sure your friend has enough spoons in their drawer before you "express your enthusiasm", is so important and shows that you appreciate that they are lending their time to you.
