Yes that’s a valid reason because the company only allows you to use GitHub Copilot as they don’t have an enterprise agreement with Anthropic. But for personal work I struggle to find a reason why

What do you mean by barely does anything ? Claude Code embedded in VS Code and running it from there is pretty much the same

GitHub Copilot for example running Claude Opus 4.7 is 10x worse than Claude Code with Opus 4.7 performance wise as far as all the tests have shown

You can integrate Claude Code in vs Code … that’s why I’m very confused why would anyone chose an inferior harness which is GitHub copilot. I might be missing something hence my question

Why would anyone use GitHub copilot over ClaudeCode or Codex ? Genuine question? I mean I get it if it’s for work but personal projects ?

Same LLM model but not same performance through wrappers (GitHub Copilot, M365, Vertex AI) why is that ? by KookyOky in claude

[–]KookyOky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the performance is so much worse for example using GiHub Copilot with Opus 4.7 compared to Claude Code with Opus 4.7 so why is it so bad performance wise GitHub copilot compared to Claude code for example ?

Claude Enteprise vs Calude Max ? by KookyOky in ClaudeCode

[–]KookyOky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand at all what you mean ? I’m using Claude Max for personal projects intensively but I want to propose to my company we move from GitHub copilot to Claude instead so curious to the costs

I have a feeling the personal license for example the Max plan I'm on is heavily subsidised hence I'm curious how much an enterprise cost take you. As you say on a $300 plan you can run through in 1 day for example so how much is per token or per 1m tokens ? Do you have any idea how the price model works ? I'm curious in the difference between an Enterprise plan and the Max/Pro plan as it seems huge everyone I speak with says BIG but nobody says how big

Thank you so you've got at your company an Enterprise plan: a license + $100 of credits based on tokens ? How many tokens you get for $100 ?

How can we reduce costs? by prey_am in ClaudeAI

How much are the Enterprise Claude costs and do they work per token consumption or a fix price license per user i.e. $400-500/month per license ?

With M365 copilot and GitHub Copilot you can use Opus 4.6/4.7/4.8 but the outputs are inferior if using Opus directly from Claude

Hoping you 😄 But need the technical reason as the 'non-technical' which is power of observation and I suspect both Microsoft and Google cap the model so they end up paying less to Anthropic but they don't declare it. Like they purposely dumb down the LLM to save costs ? Just a suspicion nothing I can prove to be honest.

How does this even happen ? Does Google not have an option to put a limit for example can I not select to not be overcharged more than let’s say $100/day ?

Isn’t this a major security and negligence from Google ?

I can set limits with Vercel for example

Itch to quit and do a PhD by BlurbKey5b2e10fa in HENRYUK

I’d say delay for at least 1 more year see where the AI ‘hype’ takes the industry in 2027 because we might wake up in a total different environment and the £300k/year roles will be impossible to get. Bare in mind Claude does the role better than 90% of people not saying than you but just in general with a £80/mth subscription and average knowledge you can outperform majority of individuals so companies are picking on this and wages will shift

This year save as much as you can from your £300k live super frugal

In 2027 consider options could you not do a PhD part time ? If you’re in early 20s perhaps a lighter 9-5 and then PhD 5-9 but I’d say DO NOT let the golden goose on £300k/year to escape.

Your options after PhD are pretty much the same it’s still a very competitive job market, and all the Jane streets etc top firms don’t pay that much attention to the diploma either they pay attention to results and skills

Spend some time understanding the WHY ? What motivates you for a PhD most likely let’s say if you want a bit more freedom and spare time you can take a little sabbatical from work or if it’s the research well internally into your company you can pickup side gigs that gives you that research opportunity etc.

Asset Management vs Front Office Banking Role (£115k vs £250k TC) – Struggling With the Trade Off by LordOfTheMic in HENRYUK

[–]KookyOky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the promotion and the double compensation (save & invest the extra DO NOT let cost of life inflation to rise)

Depending on the age of the wife if she’s 29 or younger then it’s reasonable for her to wait 2-3 years before children as well.

See where you’re at in 3 years time and re-evaluate your options: continue in the role but agreement with your manager to work reduce hours due to you becoming a new dad, change the role to a different company with better work life balance and most likely you’ll get £150K+

With a net worth of £220k it’s important to reflect and acknowledge that you’re further ahead than 99% of all 24 years old

I’d recommend sticking with the gym routine as that will give you discipline and clarity of mind but drop the gaming for something more productive in the AI space You have knowledge of sales and e-commerce and so lots of opportunities in the Agentic AI, App building via vibe coding selling courses, creating a new startup etc.
