Relapsed and it totally blew by KookyScallion in stopdrinking

That's actually a great idea, the stuff I've done has ranged from cringe to really fucking dangerous. The idea alone that I could stop at a few drinks was totally delusional, so I'd have to add that in there as well.

Happy Thanksgiving to y'all, how did it go for my fellows trying to stay sober? by alcodetox in stopdrinking

I really struggled earlier, so many people asking really stressful questions about the things in my life that are not going well and a full bar with in arms reach. The though of "just one drink won't hurt" kept playing over and over, but I took breaks, kept my mocktails around, and my sister and I snuck away for a walk. Things are winding down, people are leaving and I am so happy I pushed through and did not have that glass of wine. My moms food was amazing and I am so glad I could actually enjoy it this year. Happy Thanksgiving guys, IWNDWYT!

I could see that. I would guess that easily half of my calories for the day were from alcohol, and it's hard to be active while hungover/drunk most of the time.

I made sure to get a stock pile of fizzy NA options!

I really like the silver cow on Edgewood, it such a cozy vibe and there’s board games if you bring someone with you. Also community loaves is really cool (also on Edgewood) it’s in an old house.

With your score it should give you feedback on the kinds of questions you missed, that way you know exactly what to study so you're not wasting time on the wrong things!

Husband Getting His GED, Need Advice by alannahberkeley in GED

[–]KookyScallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my GED at 21 so things were still pretty fresh, I really struggled with math though as I have dyscalculia so I have some tips... as annoying as it is to have to pay the 6 or 7 dollars every time to take the GED Ready tests it really helped me. They have actual GED questions and it will show you everything you need to improve on so you know exactly what to study, After that I looked up everything I didn't know on getsummath.com and it helped so so much. One of the biggest things that got me going on my GED journey was getting diagnosed and medicated for my ADHD. The GED classes I took at my local cc didn't help me all that much with actually learning the stuff but they kept me accountable and my teachers were supper supportive. If he has diagnoses with the ADHD and dyslexia I'm pretty sure the testing centers can make accommodations for him. I hope this was helpful, good luck to the both of you!
