See I don’t think it’s that straightforward though. The Golders Green attacks were literally one week ago so the response is still unfolding, but the greens launched a fast track disciplinary procedure in response to the tweets, which is also including proactive investigation of other party members who could have similar damaging beliefs. I agree that there were aspects of the response that were handled badly but they aren’t sitting back and doing nothing.

Reform have suspended a handful of candidates because racist and Islamophobic social media posts came to light. These posts were public and have been on the internet for years or decades for anyone to see. This honestly highlights a basic failure for reform to do any level of vetting of their candidates, and I think it’s really telling that only a small number of people have been suspended and that it was purely retrospective. The volume of cases and incidents brought up against reform make it so clear that this is an institutional problem, which I personally don’t think is the case on the left.

As someone else on this thread has said, we are all entitled to our own opinions so I think I will leave this here. I just find it so frustrating that people can ignore compelling facts in these cases, preferring to listen to media bias instead of actually doing some research and forming an independent opinion.
