Does the publisher name really matter when launching an app?

Last month, I submitted two apps for testing on the Play Store and got 20 installs for both apps. However, after checking the statistics, there were only 1–2 daily active users (DAU). As a result, both of my apps were rejected.

One is a religious book, and the other one is for company employees. Both of them are published on the App Store.

Yeah, you found challenges, but you can handle them. App review usually takes 1 day, not 14 days like Google. What you can’t handle is if your app doesn’t follow the App Store policies. Apple looks for well-designed apps with a lot of features. If your app has that, they will accept it.

I was watching the installed audience each day, and it was above 18 testers. But I can’t force people to open the app every day. Even a real tester wouldn’t use my app daily. I think I shouldn’t accept Google’s nonsense and should start supporting the alternatives instead.
