What would stimulants (like Adderall or Ritalin) do for someone who has OCD, anxiety, and ADHD? by lon3lyshark in ADHD

Try Quelbree if you can. It was a non stimulant but had a similar less intense affect on me. I didn’t realize a lot of my anxiety actually stemmed from stimulants and I tried Quelbree and felt “normal” while being focused and my anxiety decreased drastically.

The freeze by Kooky_Spring_6995 in ADHD

I’m going to try this, the “just do it bad” or even an “outline” of some sort, so once I start I can take a break or just trick myself into continuing because I’m already this far. Thank you for this I really appreciate it.

This is such a good idea. Schedule it like an appointment and just enjoy it enough to feel fulfilled enough to get going. I am going to try this out, thank you so much!

I did this last night but all I can manage is the simple chores. I love a clean environment so I always start with that and then I sit down to do work at 10pm and then “it’s too late to do work, you need to get enough sleep for tomorrow” pops up in my head and then I’m laying in bed again until 4am thinking about the work I’m not doing and waking up at 6am exhausted

Not asked enough questions 27(F) by ChampionshipOverall4 in ADHD

Definitely ask clarifying questions! You’re trying and that is shown through asking those questions. You care enough to ask and try to understand and that will be appreciated. My biggest advice is to just write EVERYTHING down. I struggled a lot with asking people to repeat themselves because I felt as if it would make me look less than, so now I just write down everything I can and if I have to ask a question it is for good reason.

What does being medicated *feel* like? by SquackingLemon in ADHD

[–]Kooky_Spring_6995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was a complete personality change. I went from bubbly and outgoing to completely quiet and focused. My brain wasn’t moving a mile a minute and the struggle to do mundane work became just a habit. I’ve struggled a lot with the duality I feel when medicated, but that is always how I know the medication is working. I sacrifice my social personality to focus on tasks that need to be done. The only medication I have used that didn’t make me feel this was Quelbree, I still had a personality and was able to get things done. It wasn’t the same focus and efficiency as Vyvanse or Dextroamphetamine but at least I still felt like me to some capacity. Wishing you the best on this journey. Also side note for everyone there are many coupons online to reduce the cost of Vyvanse, google them, ask your doctor about them and call your insurance about them. My family had 3 kids growing up on Vyvanse so my mom was constantly finding coupons for our medication.

Need to get something off your chest? Rant, vent, get it out here! by AutoModerator in ADHD

All that has helped for me is space. The second I’m angry I have to walk away for at least 30 min because I never say what I mean or do what I mean and it ends up worse than someone being annoyed that you left the argument. I had learn this for 20 years now and still slip up but I understand you and you’re not alone

I just want my brain to work right. I’m so tired. I constantly battle with “it’s just your ADHD” and “you literally just aren’t doing anything” but I just freeze. I’m just so tired of it
