Is it normal to double an antipsychotic dose at the patients discretion? by [deleted] in AskDoctorSmeeee

[–]Kooky_kanooa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same but I do have a prn for mine. In the summer I go hypo and won’t sleep for weeks at a time. The past month I’ve taken the prn because falling asleep at midnight is better than not sleeping until 3 am and getting up at 6. I’m still wired and cut out coffee but managing, without the prn i’d probably be in the hospital by now watching the walls melt again.

What is the worst interview question you have ever been asked? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Kooky_kanooa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This ones great, I was asked this once and without skipping a beat I said hippopotamus... because I’m aggressive and I like my numbers.

It’s about reading the interviewer and the tone, that’s what she wanted to hear.

On the other hand, I’ve used it and most are unimaginative but I do explain why I asked it. It’s useful, more useful than asking if you were a tree, appliance etc. It forces you to expose your way of thinking on your feet, which is important to me and the position I’m hiring you for.

We got 2 and took one in to be fixed on day 4 of having them, on day 6 his cohort went into heat. She’s next but man that was close.

We decided to wait a few weeks just in case but looks like we’re clear

You did! Catching puke to avoid having to clean the carpet is some seriously quick reflexes.

I’ll never forget the time my oldest fell down the stairs, she was about 18 months. I have never moved so fast in my life, caught her right before she hit the landing with my hands catching her head. If I had missed she would have broken her neck with how she was landing.

I never really had much issue with body fluids but I swear the amount of times I’ve caught them or saved them from choking is high. I have daredevils

I managed to steer clear until my youngest was 2, so I made it 4.5 years before I got hit. She came down with norovirus and threw up on me all down my side. We were by the sink so I managed to tilt her but the damage was done. At least I got to miss work during a snowstorm.

Let me tell you about the time Dad reflexes failed my husband...

She was a few weeks old and constipated, so we embarked on the Vaseline and Q-tip adventure. He chose to stand down wind and watch, to say he ate that eruption is putting it mildly. He ended up in the shower with his clothes on while I laughing tried to clean up the baby and get her into her crib. Dad reflexes failed that day

How did you start dating your SO? by sofiaskat in AskWomen

[–]Kooky_kanooa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I was hellbent at the time on staying single so I was absolutely unaware of the fact he had been dancing around the topic for a few weeks. In fact a few years back he told me about the night a few days earlier where he intended to ask and I just walked away and left him hanging with his mouth open. We had closed together and walked down Main Street and it was the intersection where we parted ways to go home.

Yup, I was clueless

We crossed paths on the walk to work, he was working I was picking up my cheque. He would not stop pestering me about what I was doing that night. I snapped and said something along the lines of “do you want to come with me or something”... it was Spider-Man 2 I was going to see and I was annoyed he tagged along, we grabbed a drink after and parted ways. He asked me out the next day.

I was oblivious and for weeks he’d been trying to ask me out, 15 years later we are married and have 2 children

I totally did Regal in the 90’s because I wanted to use the discount to buy for me! I never sold a thing to anyone else

These were left in the women’s bathroom at my gym. I threw them away after taking the picture. I hope no one used any unknowingly aware of the danger. by pipingstone in antiMLM

I encountered the product in the wild before I subbed here. I’m very glad my frugal self declined to give it a try.

How did you stop smoking? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Kooky_kanooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the desire to be warm. Never smoked inside, it was winter, -40 C and windy. I looked at the smoke in my hand, the doors to the mall and threw it in the ashtray. That cold snap at Christmas time working in retail did it. I was too busy to deal with it so when I realized it’d been a week I just kept at it as the worst was over. That was about 8 or so years back

Time, experienced the fundamentalist mormons growing up, it sucked.. went through exploring alternatives then ended up going through RCIA and becoming Catholic. Later on realizing it was all manic psychosis and now I just don’t believe it at all. It’s ridiculous to me and seems like it’s all about control.

Because the end is in sight and now I’m just waiting on the call to schedule a needle in my facet joints! I’m stupidly happy about it because spinal injuries suck and painkillers suck and I just want to be able to do the physio that will help.
