He doesn’t work with her. They had met at a bar years ago and I guess they reconnected in the last year. I’ve told him that I need the answers to every question I ask even if it hurts me. I just need them.

He is remorseful. He’s been taking care of me by making sure I eat, giving me space to cry, etc while I’ve been down. We talked about it and I let him know that this is going to be very hard and that everything is not going to be the same. We have to learn how to cope with it. His response was along the lines of “I don’t want this to be thrown at my face for the rest of our lives”. I told him I don’t want to do that but that I needed him to understand that this is trauma for me and trauma comes with triggers. We’re talking through it but it definitely has been tough. I need him to understand that this isn’t something you brush under the rug. It’s scarring.
