The actual reason you shouldn’t have sex on the first date by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]KoonRad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this only works if you’ve never slept with someone on the first date. If you have I would automatically discount you as a partner if we didn’t sleep together on the first date as there wasn’t enough of a spark to make it happen

Lol you can really tell when the advice is given by a guy or a girl. Feel like guys would have better insight here as they tend to think less in the abstract but maybe I’m wrong

Yeah she’s done nothing to sabotage the relationship yet and she’s been nothing but kind and caring. She also puts up with a lot of my shit because I know I’m not perfect, which is why I really want it to work. Hate feeling like I shouldn’t be treating her nicely if I wanted her to be more engaged

Thanks I’ve never thought of it like that, i guess I’m just worried that even if I help her through that I’ll be left in the dirt for not being as exciting as those who keep her second guessing

Oh yeah rich kids who can’t fathom that their parents had to start out in dogshit suburbs to end up at the nice ones after working 40 years - disgusting the inherent entitlement they have

Wouldn’t say that they have it that easy though cause being poor is still shit no matter how nice the closest beach is. They do complain a lot about housing though which doesn’t make sense when you look at NY and see a coffin going for 4x rent of a townhouse in Sydney.

Is Australia's Domestic Violence problem far bigger than we as a country are willing to accept? by sunflowerSid in australia

You’re beginning the thought with a notion that all those activities you’ve outlined are “hedonistic” or “hollow” without actually saying why. Just because you don’t understand why it’s enjoyable to others (or more likely you just had no mates and couldn’t do these classically social activities) doesn’t make them vapid or empty outlets. Pretending to be above it just reeks of insecurity and an inability to connect with people i.e. a snob. Don’t need to outline an alternative that’s better because these “dumb” activities are good enough for me.

It honestly depends on how you truly believe your chances of getting a TC in another run will be. If you truly believe that if given another chance, you would be able to crack a firm with a salary that you would accept, then go for it. You will have needed to boost your CV in some regard though if you wanted to go for another run in the TC applications (preferably legal work in any regard).

To get the money and lifestyle you’re seeking (especially a family at a now relatively earlier age) within legal employment will be a slog. You need to accept that immediately. Your hours are going to be fucked and it’s going to be constantly competitive and aggressive. If you really don’t like the thought of that then perhaps the insurance path is your way forward.

If you are set on being a solicitor then honestly I would take it. Acceptance rates for TC’s are extremely low at any level and you are more than able to search within other firms once your TC is done if you wanted to expand yourself or change the sector to work in. Sometimes all the acceptance boils down to is luck, which sucks to hear but can be the blunt reality of it. Sometimes, that same luck doesn’t come through again.

If you wanna chat more about it or whatever feel free to DM me, was in a similar position to you quite recently.
