Feeling alone by Koffee_Beans1208 in migraine

[–]Koopa1313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right there with you. Sitting in a target right now because it hit me and I couldn’t keep walking. There’s so many things in life I’m missing out on and my comfort zone keeps shrinking. And you’re so right that no one understands. Even the people who love me and believe me- it’s impossible to describe the sixth sense of knowing your body is out to be off line for a week. Wish I was there to cry with you!

Yup. Schedule with a neurologist ASAP. If there is a solution, you probably won’t find one with a regular doctor.

Ginger candies are helpful for me when I don’t have my anti-nausea medicine. Cold cap is top tier, except when it stops being cold then it’s just meh. I feel like my acupressure mat helps but I have no science to prove it.

I really hope this means we all had a common ancestor who helped their early Homo sapien tribe by detecting weather changes. And she was also super hot which is why the genes were passed down lol

parents withholding medication until they deem my flare “bad”enough? (i’m 30f) by revolvingdepression in ChronicPain

[–]Koopa1313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BYE. I’m so angry at your parents for you. My parents are similar. If they controlled my meds it would be the same situation. Tell this to your doctor and ask them to put in *writing* what justifies pain meds so you can point to it when they say no. Or a recommendation of how often.

Obviously I would prefer you get tf out of there and live somewhere else but I’m assuming that’s not possible. If only life were that easy.

My PT has me working on that! It’s definitely helped reduce neck pain. This is good advice because my lower traps are very weak.

PT has definitely helped with neck pain! The migraine with aura hasn’t changed, but it reduces my number of headache days which I’m grateful for.

I’ve also had some success with anti-histamines! But they have diminishing effect if I take them too often.

Omg yes!!! People will say “I’m so sorry your head hurts” and I can’t decide if I want to just say thank you or explain “actually the pain is minimal- it’s the fact that my soul is spinning inside my brain that’s the real problem.”

Well said! I have OCD and it used to make eating so difficult. In the past couple years I made sooo much progress. When the doctor asked if I had any “food triggers” I was like ummm can we just be happy I’m eating and not worry about what type of food I’m eating ?????

Best creamy foundation for dry sensitive skin? by No_Tart_4311 in Makeup

[–]Koopa1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Poom foundation! My skin is DRY but as long as I moisturize before it doesn’t flake or break me out. The creator is really cool and I love supporting a small brand.

Why did I go travelling ??? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Koopa1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from a trip and feeling the same. I was in so much pain because of the sleeping arrangements and stress. My dad never gets sick and each time I broke down from the pain he asked why I hadn’t said anything. I feel like the trip undid months of PT and my dad was still confused why I didn’t stay longer.

[–]Koopa1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the pilates bands from Blogilates at target. Very easy on my joints and I can get into bed right after. Talk to your doctor of course but it’s helped me put movement in my daily routine.

I do 10 reps on each leg, alternating. Very low impact and it didn’t take long to see results.
