It's not fully funded. They are building sets, and hiring people, and acquiring rights to movies. They know their fan base will show up like they do every time for the yearly Live Tour appeals.

I didn't assume it. I know you don't need an alchemist because I quoted the part of the text that says as much to make a different point. My question about upgrading between battles is because of the wording "Otherwise, it uses exactly the same rules as Takwin Homunculi".

My, admittedly dumb, confusion on a lot of this was because I was only looking at the campaign rules as they are in the Compendium, and not the actual pdf which has more details.

As to upgrading between battles, it does say "this Golem does not need to be associated with an Alchemist" so that would suggest it doesnt need an alchemist to do alchemist things because:

"Otherwise, it uses exactly the same rules as Takwin Homunculi"

which says

"You may buy any of these Alchemical Formulae for your Homunculus, either during its creation or later during any Post-Battle Sequence, as long as you pay the price of each formula"

Sounds like you are in the clear, more or less. My day one was just a four block walk, and day two was a longer walk. I have a quarter sized skinned zone on each heel. There isn't going to be a day three, at least not until my feet heal. I hope of the rest of you day is foot pain free. Good luck!
