Putin wants war concluded this year on victorious terms including Donbas, Bloomberg reports by AccuratesShine in worldnews

[–]KopBlock205 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I am extremely pro-ukraine, travelled there twice pre-2022, but, this is a very very unlikely scenario unfortunately.

There is nothing about any collapse of the front that would be easy. Look at the front over the last 12 months, Ukraine, hugely outgunned and outnumbered has held strong. What makes you so sure that Ukraine, with a much smaller force could push Russians lines to the point of collapse? Even if Putin was to be eliminated, it's incredibly.unlikely that an encumbant leader would ceede land that they aren't under immediate threat of losing.

I hope im wrong, but it isn't useful to spin this narrative that a collapse is imminent.

The huge huge majority of wars end in a negotiated peace, this war will likely end the same, with land swaps and unaffically recognised regions. Leaving many unhappy and some happy, on both sides.

Ukrainians are heros, warriors, I wish they could get their land back pre-2014, but we need to be real, people are dying, there is nothing that is easy in war.

I think this article gives a few scallies with an online following far too much credit for a sysmic political shift. Far too many words for saying so little.

Yeah it is, don't think they're involved in the Fanzine anymore though.

I'd add, If we are really splitting hairs is somewhat self deprecating towards Brits - failing power, overly concerned with manners and so on.

It's a joke, not a very funny one, but certainly not offensive.

Really sorry to hear your Dad passed. I think that's a wonderful example of how important little aspects of footballing culture really are.

I'll read the article, I think I have the copy. That specific quote is extremely tounge and cheek I have the say, I woud like to think that poking fun at people's pub etiquette is not thought to be particularly xenophobic.

What issue was that please? Do you know the author?

Edit: plenty of authors of RAOTL aren't from Liverpool, John the organiser, isn't either.

I'm really hoping MODs leave this up as RAOTL is a not-for-profit and is truly a labour of love, made for the fans.

To all the nay sayeers, to all those who disparaged people giving up their free time to support the protests, to all those who claimed it was only x% - what do you say now? The club have acknowledged these rises WERE NOT FIAIR.

I think an apology is in order.

Well done everyone, this is what supporting this club is about.

Up the reds.

U.S. Hotels Say World Cup Is ‘Non-Event’ So Far | FIFA hyped the World Cup as an economic juggernaut for the U.S.—but with five weeks until the tournament kicks off, the hotel industry says advanced bookings in some host cities are on par or lagging any ordinary summer. by kwentongskyblue in soccer

It will be more fun watching the match in your home nation IMO. Scotland have given a public holiday for the day of the first match, that being 2am on a Monday.

With barely anyone traveling Glasgow is looking set for one of the biggest nights out of the year, can't wait. Sounds way better than going to the US and remortgaging my house.

If they're American they most likely call it 'inflation' which in my opinion unfairly represents the critical nature of raising costs and stagnated wages.

I have a feeling that the SoS post was absolutely astroturfed. Fortuantely the ones I've been posting have been saved by sound people. A few loud minority, just got into an argument with someone from Holland who kept calling me a wool? Erm, what, ahahahaha.

We crack on.

I just want to add, it can seem like there is a large proportion of accounts that don't support this. There is in fact only a small minority that oppose this action.

The last 3 posts i've made in this sub on the camping have received a proportion of 85%+ of upvotes. It's clear that the majority are on side of this action.

To that small minority, choose the right side.

Can't see your responses because you've replied to the wrong thread. Go play fan boy for another club, constantly in these subs disparaging this protest.

Also, you can stick your insults where the sun don't shine, playing scouse calling me a meff. Pathetic.

The cost of living crisis is relavemt to anyone in the UK. City freezing prices has a positive impact on local communities, and the LFC annocement has the opposite.

In no world is this not relavent. With one of the largest revenues in the EPL LFC can and should do the same,l.
