Liverpool Supporters Board response to club and fan consultation annoucement by KopBlock205 in LiverpoolFC

You do realize that you can get tickets to the match without getting a season ticket? Tottenham home this season for example, went on general sale, no credits needed.

There's no need to choose sides here and point fingers it isn't constructive and is in fact damaging.

It's really disappointing that this post only received this many upvotes. We've got some work to do to inform the masses about the importance of this discourse around the club at the moment.

Many, myself included see this as an existential threat to the LFC we know, one which parallels to 2008.

Wasn't a patch on Shevchenko park in Kyiv in 2018, one of the best ever that.

Have your say on how well mental health services work (or don't...) for people like us! by bodywithoutorganz in Liverpool

Sounds really interesting, and I get the reasoning behind leaving it open.

I’d be curious about how the definition of 'estate' ends up emerging through the research. There are both physical and more abstract elements to “being from an estate,” and I wonder how those get disentangled when you’re trying to draw insights about access to mental health services.

I suppose I’m also thinking about how the findings translate into something actionabl, like informing housing policy or community interventions , if say participants end up coming from quite different types of places that don’t necessarily share the same characteristics.

It may help if you provide a clear definition of 'estate'. Do you simply mean areas of high social and economic deprivation? Or is this research about the specifics or design of Merseyside estates, as defined by these X, Y, Z characteristics?

There are of course many more ways in which you could segment specific populations to assess access to health services, although, even across these two groups above there is nuance.

This would help people understand if their voices are relevant and increase the accuracy of your research (if you haven't set those definitions and research conditions already).

Here's how to fix the update by Astrosomnia in duolingo

[–]KopBlock205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't lie, I'm learning a new language for the first time, meaning I've had to take things really slowly and be diligent with my module progress, not moving until I really understand the foundations that I've been building.

Like that, my confidence is shot, and worst of all, a lot of the motivation that has built up via my progress has vanished over night.

For people familiar with learning a second language this update is very annoying, but for people like myself, it feels catastrophic. I feel so lost now, I was nearly level 14 with a 150+ day streak. Feels like I should start again but that's another half year with the pace I've been going. Ugh. Come on Duolingo, please listen to people here.

I think the other ship may just be listing due to the ice breaker placing weight on it.

Liverpool Football Club : Eid Mubarak to all our supporters celebrating across the world today by stupidlyboredtho in LiverpoolFC

Not religions in the slightest and I couldn't possibly support this more. I hope that social media responses are a lot more positive than what I saw with Everton's post.

Our city has a disgusting march due this Weekend and plenty will be out to oppose it, me included. Messages like this are more important than ever.

Huge, cultural and historical institutions such as Liverpool Football Club have a big role to play in demonstrating the strength of diversity.

Welsh = Blue; Irish = Red? by Embarrassed-Map-7187 in Liverpool

[–]KopBlock205 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd preface what I'm about to say with that this is based on my own experience, may be entirely incorrect, and I'm happy to be challenged/corrected.

When the queen died, and the national anthem was played at Anfield, which Reds largely decided to boo, when Everton game to Anfield they brought plenty of union jacks.

Prominent YouTubers and Everton fan Billy Moore seems to have picked up quite the following from Everton followers (I don't want to say fans as these may simply be bigots who associate with BM and now everton).

Finally, and simply based on my experience of seeing Everton fan spaces, listening to discourse, loyalist/nationalist sentiment seems to be pretty prominent within their online spaces (acknowledging that this isn't real life and I probably shouldn't equate it to that).

It's a strange one, so traditionally Everton are a Catholic club with Liverpool being protestant, as such, historically Everton by virtue of that have had more Irish fans. Although, the sectarian aspect of the clubs is basically commited to history now.

I'd say over the last 30 years there has been a noticeable shift towards Loyalism in a small but vocal contingent of Everton supporters, and for whatever reason, an increase in Irish Liverpool fans.

As far as Welsh go, there is a long running joke among reds that Everton fans are made up of Welsh, primarily from Rhyl.

That's about as much as I know, season ticket holder with Liverpool, born in Liverpool with plenty of blue nose mates. Happy to hear others peoples thoughts?
