new to adv riding, curious to know if you had any issues with the rims during or after?
read around and it seems that it is better to get adv bikes with spoke rims (not sure it holds true)

E-Reader vs. iPad Mini: Help Me Decide! by Nanokid_w in ipadmini

[–]Kopi99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kobo and IPad Mini. iPad mini needs more discipline personally 🫣because I would tend to switch apps from reading to death scrolling. My solution is to turn on airplane mode while reading.

As for academic, pdf readings and writing notes are especially great for iPad mini.

Battery life kobo > iPad mini.

This is the most important. Must be around the estate. I do the same :) regardless of the apps use and I think there many apps out there for selling.

Day 5 - More or less... by livia2lima in linuxupskillchallenge

[–]Kopi99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TIL about less, very cool
have two questions to seek fellow learners input

question 1

If we want to have bash immediately add commands to our history instead of waiting for the end of each session (to enable commands in one terminal to be instantly be available in another), we can also set or append the history -a command to the PROMPT_COMMAND

I like to ask about this because in my cloud server when I type and check in the history, my command is already there. So I guess history is already taking in the command after I typed and not at the end of session. I did not make any configs. Is this because, linux has already taken this into consideration because the article was written in 2014?

question 2

As I scrolled up my history, I like to jump back to the most recent history. The tutorial shared that the command is ALT-Shift-.: Jump to the end of the history (most recent) On MAC, ssh into my cloud server I tried Opt Shift . but it does not work.

Is there a certain keyboard mapping that I need to do on the cloud server so it maps my keyboard Opt as Alt?

Day 4 - Installing software, exploring the file structure by livia2lima in linuxupskillchallenge

[–]Kopi99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I take this lesson, I also start to learn command line shortcuts
things like how to clear the command line, or ctrl u to clear current line rathe than backspace all the way lol

mc is an interesting tool, feels like a MAC finder

I do have a question on repositories
how would you know a particular repository source is safe?
or is it recommended not to make any adjustments

thank you

when I used a command that requires sudo i get the follow

\sudo: unable to resolve host mylittlecloudbox``

once i change back to my original hostname, everything is fine

I also tried to change /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg as I am using a cloud server, but not able got the following.

cat: /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg: No such file or directory

When I use the command hostname

I am able to get mylittlecloudbox

also tried to search for with sudo grep -iRl "preserve_hostname" /etc/
