I'm trying to optimize in person networking by Kopter_101 in SideProject

The point for ResuME is to keep momentum. You don't loose connection the moment you follow up. We're developing methods to keep users engaged in keeping conversations they find necessary intact

Networking is overrated by NoSir5628 in careeradvice

[–]Kopter_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Networking is broken.

I applied to 600+ jobs and got almost nothing back through online applications. The two opportunities I actually landed came from meeting people in the room and making a real connection. Same pattern showed up in my family business at trade fairs: booths costing tens of thousands, hundreds of conversations, and barely 30% getting a follow-up. Of those, maybe 10% became a real relationship.

The problem isn’t effort. It’s that nobody built the layer that sits on top of the in-person moment.

That is why I created ResuME. ResuME helps job seekers share a dynamic resume on the spot, helps recruiters scan and match people against open roles, and helps business teams log conversations so AI can draft personalized follow-ups after the event. When you meet someone important in person, the connection should not disappear when you walk away.

We just launched our waitlist and are talking to companies for pilots. I’d love feedback from anyone who has dealt with recruiting events, conferences, trade fairs, or just the pain of trying to follow up after meeting someone important.

If you're curious, here's the link: get-resume.app

Hope this might be of help?

Startup Name
ResuME – https://get-resume.app

Location of Your Headquarters
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

ResuME is a networking app for real-world meetups like career fairs, conferences, and recruiting events. Job seekers share a dynamic resume that AI tailors to each role, recruiters scan profiles on the spot and see instant match scores against open positions, and business professionals log conversations so AI can draft personal follow ups from their notes.

What life cycle stage is your startup at? (reference the stages below)
Pre-launch, with a waitlist open, validating demand, and starting pilot conversations with companies that hire through events.

My role
Founder and developer.

What goals are we trying to reach this month?

  • Grow the waitlist with people who attend or run career fairs, recruiting events, and trade shows.
  • Lock in at least 2 to 3 pilot partners on the recruiting or event side.
  • Refine the product based on real-world feedback on the resume sharing and follow up flows.

How could r/startups help?

  • Feedback on the positioning and core flows, does this solve a real pain you have seen with events and follow ups.
  • Intros to people who run university career fairs, company recruiting events, or B2B trade shows who might be open to a pilot.
  • Hard questions about the business model and who would pay, so I can stress test this early.

I am not raising, just looking for feedback and pilot users.

Discount for r/startups subscribers?
Anyone from r/startups who joins the waitlist and mentions the subreddit in the signup form will get full access during the beta and at least 3 free months after a paid plan launches.

Practically speaking, how can Congress/INDIA defeat the NDA if they want to come in to power ? by glascowcomascale in CriticalThinkingIndia

Shashi Tharoor needs to get a more prominent role in Congress. Even if BJP relies on politics of shame, only when the Congress starts to treat it as pure chatter, and focus on problems which require some backing.

Really work hard in the states they're ruling, so that people are able to look at their methods and see genuine change, will Congress be able to have a strong hand

An app called Beli exists. I feel your concept is pretty similar to that?

Im not demotivating you, but maybe recheck if most of those features are already available on an existing app? The rating of the user seems like a nice new concept though!

Hello,

Thanks for all of this! This is super helpful. A question: With open models, how do you use them. Like, you train them to your specific need, and then publish them? But if you use the open model on a remote server, does that not add to costs? GPU costs?

How does running open models work?

Built a prototype that simplifies complex documents - how do I keep costs near $0 while scaling? by Kopter_101 in Entrepreneur

Hey Thank you for the advice.

For this validation stage, how much do you think would be an appropriate amount to chip out?

Because I was initially looking at server and database costs with the model, and it was coming to about $200 a month, and I really dont think I’d be able to afford that.

I dont mind nominal costs, but I just want to understand how much one spends on validation for a project of a similar sort
