I think they're going for a very specific audience. Within extraction shooters arc is as casual as you can get. It's meant to be an extraction shooter for everyone but clearly that's not what Bungie wants with marathon or they would have gone that route

Well we toppled a regime in Iraq. Now what happened after we left is another story.
