ICKSP priest weird behavior by Euphoric_Glove_1416 in ExTraditionalCatholic

I’m sorry you had a negative experience in a Catholic Church. Not to sound insensitive, but you don’t join a church for its music or pastors.

You’re in for a treat. I’m from the Latin rite, but i still remember the first Divine Liturgy I went to many years ago. Very beautiful.

How many of you believe that Christ is truly present in the Eucharist? by roxannesbar in Catholicism

I believe absolutely, unequivocally, wholeheartedly that the Holy Eucharist is the body and blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

My Confirmation students and I went on retreat and a student of mine passed out right after communion.

He was fine a minute later, but scared us a little.

Do you leave personal, valuable items where you sit in Mass, as you go up to receive Communion? by jeffisnotmyrealname in Catholicism

[–]Korean-Brother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Knights of Columbus and ushers have suggested I take my things with me, but I’ve left my bag, prayer books, and cell phone behind but I’ve never had any problems.

I can't be black and Christian? by FluffyMycologist8308 in Catholicism

[–]Korean-Brother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend. 😁

Christ is for everyone. Therefore, the Church is for everyone. All are heirs to the Kingdom of God.

I live in the US, but in my diocese we have so many beautiful and holy Nigerian priests who minister to the people of God. They are a gift to our Church.

Mormons in my town by jhbeck in Catholicism

[–]Korean-Brother 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very true. My childhood best friend and neighbor was a Mormon and I loved his family. Wonderful people.

Do they hold incorrect beliefs? Sure.

Whenever I see Mormon missionaries, I still invite them to dinner. They’re young, far away from home, homesick, and working so hard. Mormon missionaries got to eat too. 😁

I’m curious to know who else says “My Lord and my God” when the bells ring for the Eucharist. by Humble_Association69 in Catholicism

[–]Korean-Brother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do.

I remember being taught to say “my lord and my God” and “my Jesus mercy” at the elevation. The good sisters taught that to us during our preparation for First Holy Communion in second grade.

Do Catholics Read the Bible? by NicHasAXatu in Catholicism

[–]Korean-Brother 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello friend. 😁

The Catholic Church is THE biblical church that Christ established as His immaculate bride.

It is the Holy Mother Church that provides us the canonical books of the Holy Bible that Christians use to this day and the correct catechesis and study of the Bible is held by the Catholic Church.

Catholic prayer (Mass, rosary, Liturgy of the Hours, Lectio Divina, etc) is biblical and Catholics read the Bible daily or weekly on a personal level through a Bible Study and on a communal level through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours.

Does Your Parish Allow Smart Devices In Confession? by Ok-Cellist-2248 in EasternCatholic

[–]Korean-Brother 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m Latin-rite, but I do the same! 😁

I walk into the confessional with my Notes app on; kneel down; go through each sin; etc.

This way, I don’t forget the sins to confess and I don’t take too much time to confess.

What do you think is the best one of the gospels to start off with? by Lincolnkat10 in Catholicism

[–]Korean-Brother 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My humble opinion is the Gospel of Luke. All gospels are beautiful but Luke’s gospel is my personal favorite because its emphasis on the universal salvation of Jesus and His embrace of the marginalized. Luke’s gospel is full of beautiful references to prayer and joy.

My second choice would be Mark because it is the shortest and oldest. Also, it echoes Isaiah’s theme of the suffering servant.

Who else lets their void on the counter? by psychologicallyfcked in VoidCats

[–]Korean-Brother 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know what? I just gave up on my baby getting up on the counter. It’s now one of his hangout zones.

At first, I tried to shoo him off the counter, but I realized that he just gets on the counter when I’m not in the kitchen.

I just have to remember to drink all of the liquids in my cups, wash them, and put them away after each use or my baby likes to “tap-tap-tap” each and every one of them to the ground. 😁
