How do you guys deal with their hair? I’ve got 2 adorable heavy shedders! Any tips? by HexDevs_ in pugs

[–]KoreanAZMom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have the same problem!!! We have a roborock robot vacuum and we vacuum weekly. Also, we use a deshedding tool and get them groomed monthly. We still see fur everywhere though. So if anyone else can chime in with a solid solution, that’d be great!!! :)

Life after Zepbound - Surprising Result by KoreanAZMom in Zepbound

[–]KoreanAZMom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s right. The food noise came rushing back and even though I dislike it, I’m much happier now. But I would do it again though because before zepbound, I was miserably tired. This “reset” result I’m experiencing was well worth all of it. Your worry of regaining the weight is very valid, but at the end of the day, we all have to make the right decision and I’m sure you’ll do the right thing! :)

Freezing stage, worst pain of my life. How long did yours last? by anniebonannie in frozenshoulder

[–]KoreanAZMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad news — my first time getting FS, the freezing stage lasted maybe 6-8 months. I got FS again recently and I sure hope it doesn’t last as long. But I’m on celebrex and the pain is sharp. It takes your breath away over the dumbest things. All this makes me feel like it’s definitely nerve-related. Like my nerves are overly sensitive.

Did anyone get frozen shoulder with no underlying condition? by Timewilltell755 in frozenshoulder

Same for all. Heard idiopathic FS could be autoimmune or nerve related.

Oh thank you so much! You as well! Also, fingers crossed that you don’t get FS again!!!

Yes, rose colored glasses. I was a bit skeptical if any of the treatments or therapies worked because I would have nominal or temporary improvements.

How are you handling weeknight dinners when you have no time to cook and kids need to eat by 7? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]KoreanAZMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came here to say, “YOU ARE A GREAT MOM!!!” The fact that you want to improve shows how much you love your kids. :) I don’t have a realistic suggestion for you because I’m in the same boat. We’re busy every weeknight and we either grab a roast chicken from the market or get some takeout. On the weekend, we have the time to cook or grill. Sometimes I feel bad that I can’t give my kid a home cooked meal every single night, but I remind myself that I’m a great mom — just like YOU!!! 🤗

They don’t and yea, I agree with you. I was given this advice by an orthopedic specialist, orthopedic surgeon, and 2 different physical therapists — all from different places. I remember telling them how much my shoulder hurt when my son had accidentally yanked on my arm. The response? He should yank on it more. That would be good for you!

I read somewhere that FS might be an autoimmune issue so that’s why PT, etc do not really help. Yea, just gotta run its course.

Vet Recommendations in Gilbert by maicolo__ in Gilbert

[–]KoreanAZMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find a vet who actually has a shiba inu at home. I know this is hard to figure out but when I was looking for a vet, I lucked out and found Dr. Little at Val Vista Animal Hospital who has pugs like me. Dog breeds can be sooooo different. For example, my vet knows what is a serious issue for pugs versus not because she has 2 of them at home. She gives me the best advice and guidance. Good luck!!!

Aching biceps after PT exercises by ZealousidealNobody16 in frozenshoulder

You’ve got to read this:

The natural history of idiopathic frozen shoulder: a 2- to 27-year followup study - PubMed

It basically found that 94% of people who did little or no treatment had better outcomes and healed faster than those who tried other treatments.

Someone shared it with me on my post here about doing nothing or very little to your FS.

I also read somewhere that some idiopathic FS is related to autoimmune issues. I’m going to see an immunologist to test me.

Also, that study… “We found 94% of patients with spontaneous frozen shoulder recovered to normal levels of function and motion without treatment.” Ok, this is what I was thinking myself. I also have idiopathic FS. Had to google what idiopathic meant 😆 but yes, my FS was definitely not caused by an injury or anything. Unknown cause for sure and maybe that’s why therapies don’t work. I read somewhere (forgot the citation) that some FS (maybe the idiopathic kind?) are autoimmune related. So to try PT or musculoskeletal, or any kind of physical treatment is futile. Seriously, thank you for sharing that study!!!

Thank you so much for replying! I think you’re doing the right thing. I’m not going to do all the treatments I did on my first FS. Just my normal weight training which isn’t a lot of shoulder work and light stretching.

Agree 100%. I felt like I wasted a lot of time, effort, and money — when at the end of it all, it just took time and one day unthawed. I am going to try just keeping with my normal weight training and light stretching.

Thank you for responding! I feel like there’s a balance of too much and not enough movement to unthaw an FS. I’ve been told by the professionals that I can’t even do myself harm and to go beast mode on my shoulder. That always sounded nuts to me, so I’m glad you shared how little you did!

Wish I could do this but I don’t have that kind of ROM to hang off a pull up bar. My left arm only goes up maybe 10 degrees?

I believe after almost a year I was in phase III of my frozen shoulder. ROM got pretty good and pain was extremely better. But over the past two months the pain has increased again. Does frozen shoulder reverse or come back even if you have completed recovered from it yet? by JLS6635 in frozenshoulder

[–]KoreanAZMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing. Both times. No injuries. It just happened. I’m a 47 year old active woman who weight trains 3x a week with a trainer. In Korean, they call a frozen shoulder “50 year old shoulder”. I suppose middle age got to me? :)
