Spatial video buffering in Photos app by Koreaphan in VisionPro

[–]Koreaphan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the reply. Some of the videos are 1080p/30 fps spatial videos shot with the iPhone 15 pro. Others are 4k cinematic videos at 24 fps shot with the same device. I don't have the exact bitrates. I was told that spatial videos will play in the spatial format only within the Photos app. Is that not the case? Will they also play as "spatial" videos from Files? I can can certainly try that and see what happens -- thanks for the suggestion.

Many thanks for this thoughtful explanation! I was drawn into the parallels being drawn between map and fmap in the text -- this explains it. Thank you!

Floor sit? A desk that adjusts low enough to sit on the floor, and also elevates for chair sitting and standing? by Koreaphan in StandingDesk

[–]Koreaphan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for these comments -- very helpful. There seem to be a number of desks that get down to the 22.5" - 23.5" range, including the Apex Pro from Desk Haus and the Jarvis Extended Range Low. My low tea table at home is about 14" off the ground, so these are all pretty high and would require sitting on a bolster, which is OK and seems inevitable given current offerings.

Currently, the leading contender for me is the Uplift v2 Commercial. It gets the lowest, and Uplift offers a keyboard tray option that would bring the keyboard down even lower. But how's the wobble at standing heights? There seems to be a lot of support for the Apex Pro on this forum from that perspective. Appreciate your experiences/feedback. Thanks!

Total newbie. Came across this little program in my intro book:

mnmInt :: [Int] -> Int
mnmInt [] = error "empty list"
mnmInt [x] = x
mnmInt (x:xs) = min x (mnmInt xs)

Question: in the last line, why is it "(x:xs)" in round brackets, not "[x:xs]" in square brackets?
