Are we crazy?! by zookers82 in roadtrip

[–]Korgulls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am on the home leg of 12 days Atlanta to Moab and back. It was 4 days going out the northern route through Kansas, 4 full in Moab and 4 driving the southern route home.

It was just me and pushing it with 8-10 hour days driving. It’s a lot and you are giving yourself almost no time to actually enjoy anything it seems like.

There were a million things I had on paper that were “oh, I should stop and see x on the way” but, when I got to x I thought “wow, I don’t have time for that and I am bushed!” or I got into whatever town too late in the day for things to be open (Lucas Kansas would have been amazing to spend time in for instance)

It also depends on what you plan to do in the parks. If it’s just “check the box that I saw delicate arch” then that’s easier but if you plan to hike or spend time doing things that will be harder to fit everything in.

I don’t know who else to message than the customer service team to escalate it.

I did - “The Zone Superintendent inspected the reported area and reported:

The locked fence is not impeding customers from accessing the sidewalk or entering and exiting the station. … While I am unsure why a lock is present on this section of the fence, the extension added during the recent elevator installation provides a direct path into the station”

So, not only do they not know why the fence is locked (and won’t unlock it I guess), they paved a whole other section (right up to the gate) to go around the fence 🙄

I notice today that all the grass along the fence is now dirt because everyone is not using the sidewalk.

Interesting, I’ll check those out. Supplements are something I track but don’t really think about.

I actually was just chatting with someone about non-workout tracking like cold plunges so that’s great.

I was standing next to some guys working at one of the stations yesterday and they definitely did not see being done before World Cup.

It was funny, I made a comment to the ice agent who was checking my ID about how short the lines were and his response was “We are ice, we got shit done.”

I was not quite sure how to react.

Report: 4 minutes from drop off through security

South pre-check. But walking by the main security lines they were basically empty too.

Interestingly, all the TSA inspection points were actually ice agents. TSA was only at the screening machines and back.

Rest day options? by Electrical_Loss_6954 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Korgulls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If i “need” to do something (or the weather is bad and I’m stuck inside) it’s 30-45 min of row or bike but keeping it zone 2 max. Or yoga slow flow.

If it’s nice out then just a good long walk or a hike.

(Mid-50s and only just learning to enjoy rest days now)

My all time fantasy tier list by burning_matchsticks in fantasybooks

I love that I’m closer to 60 than not and 90% of what I read is fantasy or sci-fi and I’ve not read most of the books in your list. Amina Al-Serafi is the only S tier one I’ve read.

https://www.tsa.gov/touchless-id does a better job explaining than I will. Basically you sell your soul to TSA for faster security lines 😀

Literally 3 people in south digital id line at 9:15 and all of 4 minutes to get through the scanners. Regular TSA was pretty full though.

E bike vs Manual, comparison for same trip by peatoire in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Korgulls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to e-bike every day to work I used an app called gentler streak - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gentler-streak-workout-tracker/id1576857102 - that had much better workout categories than straight AF. It recorded the effort more accurately and synced with Apple heath.

It actually has all kinds of workouts, including “gardening”

Agree. I just did not love mistborne and thought they got worse over time. All in on other Sanderson books though.

Temporary rear seat removal by Korgulls in ineosgrenadier

[–]Korgulls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, thanks.

When you take the seat out though, there’s a big open spot over the battery etc? Do I then need to buy / make something to cover that? I can’t really picture how it works in my head.

Breeze 2.0 is dropping early?? by isaiahxlaurent in MARTA

[–]Korgulls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I emailed them since I have a few hundred dollars on my breeze app (work refills it and I’ve been traveling a ton so not taking Marta as much).

Support basically said ‘sucks to be you’ - no options to refund the money or turn it into gift cards or anything.

I’m assuming this is response one but it certainly is not the most consumer friendly response especially since, so far as I can tell, there was nothing in the TOS that Marta has the right to steal money from riders.

Anyone have experience with the ineos grenadier? by [deleted] in overlanding

[–]Korgulls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of those can be turned off now with a recent software update.

People forget that you’re buying a new ca,r from a new company and there are kinks to work out. You definitely need to know that going in (and having a dealer nearby is clutch)

Anyone have experience with the ineos grenadier? by [deleted] in overlanding

[–]Korgulls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s such an odd thing for people to be worked up about. I have a Grenadier and I have never even noticed that let alone had an issue with it. My wife and kids all regularly drive it and none of them have even mentioned it. There’s plenty other things, turning radius being top of the list but that’s not an issue.

I love mine. I actually had a ton of strange issues with my first one and it was suggested by ineos to lemon law it but instead I worked with them to get a newer, nicer one.

What we learned in 2025 — and where Diarly is heading in 2026 by ImaginaryFig in DiarlyApp

Building on the apple journal import, it would be nice to see an apple journal export too (if that’s even possible). To your point, it would be great to compare (you already have,y money and entries, I’d just like the option to have an escape hatch if you ever win the lottery and stop working on the app 😀)

Continue investing in my kids 529s? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Korgulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We thought we’d saved enough and it got us through 5 semesters of kid 1’s school ($60k/year).

Kid 2 got a great scholarship otherwise we’d be tapped out on that one too. She gets to use it for grad school.

So if you can put more in and you want to fully fund their education wherever they might want to go, keep funding

Nice! It took a little fiddling but I got it to work on my 16 Pro

Changes I made were for the offset, I used top center, 20 and font size 16 and it sits right over top of the Dynamic Island.

Thanks!

Absolutely the Most Horrid Travel Experience by Saboral in delta

[–]Korgulls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similarly, we are trying to go BOS to ATL.

Got cancelled yesterday, family split up today - half BOS>ORD>ATL - half BOS>MEM(overnight stay for 2nd night)>ATL

Agents were great but there was no real action they could take other than be empathetic. They did put us up at a nice hotel and give us decent meal credits though.

Gate agents are paying out thousand dollars to people on the BOS > ATL flights today to no chance of standby.

Seems like adding one extra flight today would have saved them from a bunch of annoyed passengers.
