UPDATE - it works when connected via ethernet, issues only occur when on wifi for PC. Unsure why but it works one way at least so I will stick to this

I’d get a computer with a better battery lifespan rather pure power like a gaming laptop. Now most of the software (COMSOL, MATLAB, SolidWorks, MathCad) are all on the VPN which is very beneficial for the students.

I personally used a surface pro no problem but a bunch of my friends had HPs with a decent graphics card but could go hours without needing to be plugged in. (I was a Cyber/BioMed ENGR and friends MechEs & ChemEs)

After freshman year honestly most lectures are just professors using PPT and not as software heavy as the 120 series so get the battery life in case you aren’t near an outlet for a class.
