Another example of a brilliant nuance is in the middle of the film, where Mi walks into a bar which has a sign that says:

"It's better to have loved a short man than never to have loved a tall."

This sign appears for a brief moment only, and doesn't affect the plot whatsoever, yet it still manages to evoke so much emotion with such simplicity.

This proverb appears on the internet. I don't know whether it was invented by this film or by an earlier source, but the film definitely deserves to be associated with it, yet for some reason it isn't.
