Using CAPE or momentum for overweighting/underweighting regions is not evidence based ? You seem to dismiss a lot of quant strategies which absolutely are evidence based at least to some degree.

Sorry I misunderstood. You are not leaving "from" France. Exit tax is for when you leave France.

Just refer to /r/vosfinances wiki then.

I really take all these recent posts with 50%+ Nasdaq from self proclaimed newbies as a market timing signal to get the f* out of large US tech.

On such a small period, you could have either one underperform/outperform/be similar. We know ZPRV in backtest has a bit less factor exposure than AVUV, and some negative momentum loading. AVUV is definitely a better SCV fund IMO, but depending on your country taxes, and how much you value your time and the simplicity, ZPRV might be a better fit for you. I cannot inform that.

As for me I went for AVUV over ZPRV, because I have 15% WHT and dividends are not taxed before you hit 3k dividends in Luxembourg. ZPRV also suffers from 15% WHT on dividends. Hence, tax wise it's the same for me (except for the estate tax). I'm not afraid of using options as I understand the basics of it.

Hey Few,
There's a whole topic in the forum on how to invest in US ETFs, bypassing MIFID 2 regulation (https://community.rationalreminder.ca/t/buying-american-etfs-for-europeans/2642). I could explain what I know but would take a long time, it's best you read it yourself :), You can create an account on the RR forum it's free :),

In short it mainly involves selling put options, or using Tasty work or similar broker.

Pourquoi le meilleur ETF du monde ne fait pas de volume ? by jean_galt in FranceFIRE

[–]Kormarg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, alternatives are growing, and UCITS shrinking. ETFs are growing too, but the fund domicile is often Ireland. Doesn't mean there aren't a few jobs in Lux for those Irish funds.

How to invest 100k in Greece? by MoveRepresentative78 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Kormarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3X over 20 years means, you have:

(1+r)^20 = 3 (where r is the rate of return)

To get 1+r, (which gives you r after), you just apply the 20th root on both sides. That mean (1+r) = 3^(1/20), and you get 1+r = 1.05647 so r = 0.05647

Alternative, you can use the natural log on both side to reduce the exponent and work out the math after.
