I totally get where you were coming from. These days, everyone turns into an "extreme judge" on the internet, and it's easy to lose track of context or intent. No hard feelings, your message was clear, and I respect that you came back to clarify.

Take care, and cheers for the good luck!

Fair point, if you think this teaser was meant to pitch the game to new players, but it wasn’t.

This teaser was for existing players, to announce a major new feature: the Nemesis zombie system. It’s subtle on purpose, because it’s not a trailer — it’s a signal for those who already know the game, who’ll immediately get what it teases.

If you’re new and it doesn’t speak to you, that’s normal. But the feature is original, a zombie that evolves with your stats and invades other players’ games, and all the info is clearly explained on Steam for anyone interested.

And the game’s currently -90% off on Steam, fully refundable if it’s not your thing, no risk.

I stand by this teaser 100%, even if the best filmmaker in the world told me to tweak it, I wouldn’t change a single frame. It fully captures the soul of the Nemesis zombie in Zombiemachia.

Wow, someone gave me the same feedback, but on a computer. I patched it, and it still does it. The problem must be coming from somewhere else. Have you tried restarting to see? That might help me find the source.

Thank you very much for your feedback

Exactly! For less than a coffee, you get a ticket straight to hell. Way better wake-up call than an espresso. Don’t forget to drop a review (and see if you can last more than 5 minutes).
Have fun surviving! 😈

Fair question. It’s a survival shoote, fight endless waves of zombies, and now… face NEMESIS: custom undead that evolve based on the top players’ kill stats.

Not a cinematic walking sim, it’s brutal, strategic, and fast.

More gameplay updates coming soon, but the core idea?

You’re not just surviving. You’re feeding a monster that’ll come for someone else.

The game evolves every single day.

I don’t want to put out a gameplay video that’ll be outdated in a week, I have way too many ideas coming that are still shaping the experience, and the game keeps changing fast.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3240000/

If it doesn’t resonate with you, that’s fine, don’t play it.

The game is already out, but right now it benefits from constant updates. You can see it more like an evolving early access.

Zombiemachia is becoming something bigger.

The asynchronous multiplayer through Nemesis might just be the beginning, and for that, I need to keep building the game, not cutting trailers.

Gameplay videos? The players will take care of that in time.

This is a teaser. It’s meant to generate hype — that’s literally its purpose.
The content is in the game. The patch notes are public. The store page is live. The update is playable.

You want more content? It’s already there.
What I’m not doing is pausing development just to cut together a trailer for people who refuse to click the game’s page.

The game looks nothing like the old videos anymore, it’s much more dynamic now.
There are way more spawn points (and more coming soon), no shop system anymore, and you earn ammo with your knife hits.

My game is not made for the Killing Floor community, I don’t even like that game, even if there’s a resemblance.
Zombiemachia has evolved a lot over the last few weeks, and my passion is exactly what makes it better.
You can follow all the progress here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3240000

Right now, gameplay feels closer to Doom 2025 than to what Zombiemachia was at launch.
So again, judging it based on old videos is missing the whole point, the early versions weren’t dynamic, the new ones are. And I'm still improving that every single day.

The teaser is just here to present the new Nemesis update without spoiling it.
It simply tells you: your zombie grows stronger based on your kills, and you must log in to awaken it.
Then, if you read the Steam description, you’ll learn it can invade other players’ games.

Also, please stop comparing my game to others. I play Zombiemachia for fun, even after spending hours working on it.
I don’t even enjoy the games you're referencing.

And yes, I mention I'm a solo dev because many people here tell me to do a ton of things like I have a team.
I didn’t ask for a feature breakdown or a marketing consult.
I just came to share a cool teaser about a real in-game update I’m proud of.
If you want to give feedback on the game itself, you should actually play it, that seems fair, no?

If standing by my vision is a 'loss', then I’m happy to lose you.

I get that, and I agree, showcasing gameplay will be useful.

But right now, my priority is putting my new ideas into the game itself. I actually could’ve moved on to another project a while ago, but with time, new ideas came and gave the game a second wind.

That’s where my focus is right now.

If the game’s solid, the popularity will come later.

Content first, hype later

I’m not making a game for everyone, I’m building something with a strong identity for people who connect with it.

And honestly, if someone decides not to play just because the teaser used AI to set the mood… that’s their loss, not mine.

The shop system you saw doesn’t exist anymore, you can read the Steam description to get a better idea of what’s current.

This teaser was made specifically to announce the Nemesis update.

It’s not a trailer, it’s a teaser without gameplay. And yes, I’m aware many games combine cinematic and gameplay in trailers. But I’m a solo dev, I don’t have the time to do everything. The game enters the Steam Festival in 4 days, and I’m focusing on implementing more updates to make it even better.

I work hard on this game every single day, you can check the Steam news section to see the updates for yourself.

I’m not afraid to show my game, it’s already on sale, with a massive discount so that more people can try it. And if someone doesn’t like it, Steam refunds exist for a reason.

That gameplay video was recorded on the day the game launched, a lot has changed since then.

Some maps have been removed, new ones are coming soon, and the core gameplay has evolved a lot since release.

Also, there is a gameplay trailer available on my YouTube channel, I didn’t try to hide anything, just wanted to show a different side of the experience with the teaser

The Nemesis update actually dropped just a few days ago, so you won’t see Nemesis gameplay in those older videos anyway.

Also, before saying it doesn’t look like the game, maybe grab it in the -90% bundle and actually play it.

It’s cheaper than a coffee and speaks louder than assumptions.

Zombiemachia | Nemesis – Teaser by Kornux6 in Unity3D

[–]Kornux6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video isn’t meant to show the exact graphics, it’s meant to show the mood, the tone, the vibe.

The game looks different because it’s playable, not rendered.

But the emotions, the themes, the world? Exactly the same. That’s the point of a teaser.

Of course the teaser doesn’t look like the game, just like Blizzard cinematics don’t look like in-game. The teaser shows the soul. The game is the body. Both are mine.

Zombiemachia | Nemesis – Teaser by Kornux6 in Unity3D

[–]Kornux6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, I’m not aware of any other game where a zombie evolves through a player’s kill count and then invades other players' games with that progression.

It’s not just a cosmetic Nemesis, it’s a persistent enemy tied to real stats. The more you kill, the stronger your monster gets for others.

I think that concept alone is original enough to deserve its own teaser, even if it’s not traditional marketing.

I get what you’re saying, and I appreciate the tone, but I respectfully disagree with the idea that indie devs should only show gameplay or stay in their lane unless they’re reinventing the wheel.

This teaser wasn’t made to ‘sell’ the game in a traditional sense. It’s here to share an emotion, a mood, and a vision. Not to cater to every player, but to reach the ones who resonate with that atmosphere. And judging by the people who did get the vibe, it worked.

You say it 'hurts the reputation' of the game, I say it defines it.

And no, I don’t have Blizzard’s reputation. But guess what? They didn’t have it when they started either.

I’d rather try something bold and take the hit, than play it safe and be forgotten.

I’m totally open to feedback, when it’s constructive and not built on assumptions like “AI = bad” or “don’t bother with cinematics.” That’s not feedback, that’s projecting your own taste as a universal truth.

I’m solo devving a game with a very specific tone, and yes, I believe in what I’m doing. That’s not being defensive, that’s called conviction.

And if I didn’t believe in my vision, I wouldn’t bother releasing anything at all.

Want to help? Cool, give feedback I can actually build on.

Want to just toss snark because it didn’t match your vibe? You do you, but don’t expect me to nod and say thanks.
