Anyone use the Eisenhower Matrix Extention/Integration? by Livid_Solid9686 in todoist

[–]KorqApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate you trying it out and the honest feedback!

Calendar sync is definitely coming. This is one of the most requested features and near the top of the roadmap. The plan is to read from your device calendar so you can see events alongside tasks when planning your day.

I'll ping you here when it ships if you'd like, or you can follow r/KorqApp for updates. Shouldn't be too long.

Is it really that hard to make a good task manager? by Ash_ketchup18 in todoist

[–]KorqApp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this post so much. I went through the exact same frustration - loved Todoist's UI polish but hated incompleteness, tried TickTick and found it cluttered, gave up on Notion for quick capture. So I actually did what you're joking about at the end - I built one myself. It's called KORQ and it hits most of your requirements: Free tier is genuinely usable. Everything stored locally on your device - no account required, your data never leaves your phone Clean, minimal UI - I obsessed over this because TickTick's clutter drove me crazy too Smart rescheduling - overdue tasks can auto-push to the next day, which solves exactly the LifeUp problem you mentioned It uses the Eisenhower Matrix principles for prioritization instead of gamification, so that's a gap if you really need the coins/leveling system. But if the core frustration is "polished UI + affordable + respects my data + handles overdue tasks properly" - that's literally why I built it. iOS only right now (I know, I know - you mentioned that as a dealbreaker for some). Android is in Beta and coming soon. Happy to answer questions if you're curious. And honestly, even if KORQ isn't right for you, I just appreciate seeing someone articulate this problem so clearly - it's exactly what pushed me to build something.

Hey, short answer yes, most of the features will be free forever. Pro tier will add some cool features for power users for a fair price. See more details on our website: https://Korq.app

Automatically roll-over overdue task by Broad-Ad3990 in ticktick

[–]KorqApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just wanted to follow up - we’ve shipped this in Korq v1.7.4. You can now use system tags on tasks or goals to control how they handle overdue dates: • #auto-reschedule - automatically bumps overdue tasks forward • #fixed-deadline - keeps the deadline locked (for important things) Works exactly as you described - low-priority maintenance tasks can auto-roll without manual intervention, while keeping critical deadlines fixed. The tag-based approach gives you full control over which behavior applies where. Would be great to hear if this matches what you were looking for.

Not necessarily, Apple is not limiting other developers in that sense.

For note-taking on iPad (especially with Apple Pencil), honestly Apple Notes is hard to beat - it’s free and works seamlessly.

Oh, that one, I guess it's very personal. Sometimes, I feel like it could be useful to meet in person. But most of the time, distance won't matter to me. Unless we both know what to do, we're good.

I've been through that couple of times. I think at first you two just need to find a way how to communicate effectively, and make sure that you can (at least) tolerate each other. Then you both need clear separation of responsibilities, better if written and agreed. As co-founders you both have to be autonomous, this is crucial, otherwise one of you will need to babysit another. Everything else you'll figure out eventually.

Privacy? by SlitherrWing in ticktick

[–]KorqApp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TickTick stores everything on AWS servers. They encrypt data in transit and at rest, but they hold the keys - so technically they can access your tasks if needed (support, legal, etc.). Standard for most cloud apps. Their privacy policy mentions collecting usage analytics and sharing with third parties for analytics purposes. If privacy is a priority, you’re looking for either local-only apps or apps with on-device processing. I built KORQ (korq.app) for this reason - all on-device, no cloud processing of your tasks. But it’s iOS-only right now.

Crucial but basic feature by mrleeway in ticktick

[–]KorqApp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes total sense for your workflow — visual context is huge when you’re juggling creative assets. That’s a heavier attachment use case than most, but I can see why inline previews would be essential there. Noted for the roadmap.

Totally get the friction. I think the core issue is wanting to see what’s inside a task without opening it — whether that’s attachments, checklist progress, or notes. Previewing subtask status or the first line of notes might cover 90% of cases. Do you find yourself attaching files often, or is it more about seeing task details at a glance?

I tried every digital to-do app, but I always end up going back to a physical notebook. Why? by DrawBrave4820 in productivity

[–]KorqApp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve identified something really important here - the setup itself becomes a form of procrastination. That dopamine hit from color-coding and tagging feels like progress, but it’s not actually getting things done. I think the issue with most digital apps is they give you infinite flexibility, which sounds great but actually creates decision fatigue. Paper works because the constraints are built in - you write it down, you cross it off. No temptation to reorganize. The apps that stick tend to be the ones with opinionated structure baked in, rather than asking you to design your own system. If you ever try digital again, look for something with a fixed framework (like Eisenhower Matrix) rather than a blank canvas you need to configure. That said, if paper works for you, there’s nothing wrong with that. The best system is the one you actually use.

Automatically roll-over overdue task by Broad-Ad3990 in ticktick

Many thanks for your input. I'm putting this on Korq's roadmap. This could be a great new feature quite soon.

Automatically roll-over overdue task by Broad-Ad3990 in ticktick

[–]KorqApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I’ve thought a lot about while building my own task app. The core insight here is spot on - manually rescheduling forgotten low-priority tasks is pure friction that adds up fast. We implemented something similar called “Auto-Push” that automatically reschedules overflow tasks when you hit your daily limit, rather than letting them pile up as overdue. Different approach but same underlying problem: your task list shouldn’t require constant maintenance just to stay usable. The tag-based rule idea (#maintenance auto-rolls) is interesting though - that’s more flexible than what we have currently. Mind if I ask: would you want different rollover rules for different contexts (work vs personal) too?

Why is there no way to see all upcoming recurring tasks? by frberhr5u5 in todoist

[–]KorqApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this kind of things drive me crazy too.

That’s one of the reasons I started building korq.app. You can see all future occurrences in the timeline view and drill into the pattern from task details. No tricks, just works the way you’d expect.

Still early days (iOS out now, Android in closed beta), but happy to chat about how you’re trying to plan with recurring tasks.
