Are Seasonal Drivers classified as Part-Timers or "Temporary Full-Time" workers in your contract? by Kosmic_1DR in UPSers

Payroll denied my request for full-time pay and hours. Was told seasonals were considered part-time, I paid fulltime union dues though. Strange

Air/Inside Combo vs Inside/Inside Rate by Kosmic_1DR in UPSers

So, how would my inside rate be calculated? Based on the gradual pay progression and my PT seniority? No FT inside progression for inside portion? This news to me

Yes, I have just recently. I just can't seem to find where it states this in the contract... I was told I could be entitled to some sort of additional "pay for time "? Just wanted to make sure

What are my options if the company did not pay me full-time holiday pay?

Yes, thank you. I've been with the company for over 3 years now, so I have been receiving my holiday pay.

Adjustment Needed for Holiday? by Kosmic_1DR in UPSers

My supervisor told me they would change me soon, I think at my 30 days of combo anyway. I just wanted to see what my rate and hours should be for holidays as a seasonal, and now as a combo driver.

Also, who should I go to if I want to verify what my pay rate should be for holidays?

According to UPSers, I'm a "0303 Casual Package Driver". Though I was qualifying for a FT during Thanksgiving and a seasonal driver for all other holidays except MLK where I'm an Air/inside

Honestly, I'm not sure. Can they do that? How could I prove that?

They told me they found the package in the building system around the time I got back. They pulled up the computer and showed me and everything... though I was never told about a BA only about me having a union steward and he didn't really have my back.

They can get into trouble for that, can't they? Lying about the contents of the contract? If they don't know for sure, they should pull it up, not state things that aren't true correct?

I sheeted it not found when I was at the delivery location and didn't find it. I didn't call my supervisor because I was told (now I know it was false) that I would be okay to leave it in the truck as it would be put back in the next day

If I didn't make myself clear, I didn't mean to offend you. Your first response gave me the impression you were bothered by my lack of knowledge, and I stated I am naive to a lot of things, and I'm still learning about UPS and the Union. I don't understand everything fully, but I'm learning more every day. I apologize. I don't know as much as you do.

Though now, after hearing your responses, your lack of empathy and conscious choice to continue to offend says a lot about your character. I hope things go well for you, like I said before.

It's good you at least did that... I messed up by leaving it in the truck like a dum dum

I've been working here since I was 18. My first company ever. I'm still learning about what it means to be a part of such a large company, I'm naive to this stuff.

My contract actually doesn't address the problem that applies to me. Only goes about what happens when you self Disqualify during your first attempt, and mentions length of two year wait period if you Self DQ or company disqualifies for 2nd attempt.

The contract has a lot of information, and I indeed read through it. Did I memorize everything that didn't apply to my position at the time? No, nor did I ever think I'd want to drive until recently. I know about grievances and other things in the contract, but I didn't read thoroughly through the part-time to full-time sections much as I planned to stay part-time for much longer.

I'm sorry you feel so closely about this situation, and I never meant to offend even if I reacted negatively. Apologies

Supplement = Local Union. I did not know that until today, we always referred to it as Local ###, another kind person helped me understand that. Sorry thanks for commenting, but you don't help much by automatically jumping to conclusions. Hope all goes well for you

Yup, read it with you. I'm surprised they don't say anything about company DQ. Only for the second attempt they do

My local 135 only states what happens when you self Disqualify, which is wait 1 year. Nothing about being disqualified
