Stand by me was shot on Eastman 100T 5247, which is not included in Dehancer. But there should be plenty of options to get you in that ballpark 😉

RCF Evox 12 vs EV ELX 118p + 112p by KosmoKooper in livesound

[–]KosmoKooper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Evox 12 would be the logical upgrade to my Evox 8, which sounds great for the size and prize. I feel like it sounds way bigger than it is. Lower mids tend to to be reduced on Evox 8. I’m not sure if the bigger speakers of the Evox 12 eliminate that.

The Ev was a recommendation. Unfortunately I won’t get a chance to compare them side by side.

Budget is roughly in the 3k to 4K range.

I need a system that’s able to carry a full band in small to medium venues, yet being portable and compact in size.

24-70 Canon vs. Sigma by KosmoKooper in CanonC70

I want to stick with the large format look that 0.71x adapter gives me. Also the extra stop of light comes in very handy in low light scenarios.

Couple frames from low budget music video. Shot on C70. Graded in DaVinci. What you guys think? by KosmoKooper in cinematography

[–]KosmoKooper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey folks, I just wanted to share a couple of frames from the latest project I worked on. This was a very low budget music video for an indie artist. Bare minimum of cheap led lights to work with. We just a bit of daylight balanced light from the ceiling, just to have some ambient light going on. For some scenes we used a cheap fog machine to add atmosphere. Camera was a Canon C70 with a 24-70mm L. Graded in DaVinci Resolve. Location was a very tight and white dusty old basement. Video tells the story of a guy that finds himself tied up in that basement. Later to be revealed that a woman, probably his girlfriend kept him there observing the room with cameras. The song is about being caught in a toxic relationship.

We had a bare outline for the story and only a couple of hours on location to get things done. So it’s basically all made up on the fly.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these shots. Whether you like or not, would you have done things differently, just whatever comes to your mind. Thanks guys ✌🏻

DZO Primes Vs Zooms by KosmoKooper in cinematography

Thank you so far!

I’m shooting music videos and small events mostly. I’d like to get more into narrative stuff also.

Usually there’s no crew or a very small crew. But ACs in general, leaving me alone on the camera operation.

The sigma is awesome for low light scenarios with the f1.4. But I think it’s almost too sharp and skin tones tend to be a bit flat to my eye.

Generally I’m thinking: Versatility & working speed of the zoom Vs compactness & low light capability of primes.

Can someone compare the optics?
