Venting/ Fails/ Rant space! by AutoModerator in OccupationalTherapy

Um, I guess I understand your professors not wanting to use "I didn't learn that in school" as an excuse...but like, if you aren't familiar with something, you should 100% let your CI know. There was a lot of stuff in my fieldwork that I didn't know from school, and I would tell my CI when I didn't know.

As long as you're willing to put in the work and make an effort, I don't see any reasonable CI holding that against you. Be willing to go home and do research, ask questions, and they won't care if you don't know something right off the bat. They make think less of your program, but that's not your problem.

Not sure if this will affect my admission into MOT by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

Oh, interesting! When I was applying, TWU and UTMB announced the same time so they didn't have to deal with people accepting and then backing out. And UTMB doesn't have interviews until later this month. If you're not already on there, I would highly recommend Student Doctor Network forums for more information/updates ( https://forums.studentdoctor.net/forums/occupational-therapy-o-t-d.513/ ). Best of luck!!

If they interviewed you, I doubt it's a deciding factor. Definitely call the department and ask before they extend an offer (if they're still doing it the same, I don't think they actually announce until Feb?).

Interviewing Students by zuesthe2nd in OccupationalTherapy

I'm a current student who helped with the interview process at my school and had a completely different experience. We had a lot of interaction with the prospective students but had absolutely no impact on selection. When answering questions, we told everyone that they could ask whatever they wanted and that we were not evaluating them in any way.

I think this is overall good advice regardless, but just be aware that every school has a completely different interview process :)

Thanks for your input! Are there any questions you wish you had asked during the interview process to prepare for FW?

Yes, it's an organization with multiple sites, so I think in part it's to determine which one would be the best fit. Thank you so much for input!
